I'd say the battle...and no, its audience recorded. But mind you, this one sounds way better then a soundboard recording, witch often can sound very sterile and emotionless compared to a good AUD.

I have one called "A kind of Purple", from Switzerland (the 6th of june if I remember correctly) 1994. Great soundboard quality!

One can't go far wrong (in my non-humble opinion) by acquiring any of the following:

"The Battle" 12/3/93 Osaka, Japan
"Flying In A Purple Dream" 12/5/93 Yokohama, Japan
"A Light From Deep Darkness" 6/17/94 Schwenningen, Germany
"Emptiness, Eagles & Snow" 6/4/94 Esbjerg, Denmark
"The Spirit of Freedom" 6/22/94 Genoa,Italy

...all are - I believe - audience recordings, but with suprisingly high-quality results...not like the boots that I grew up with back in the '70s, that's fer shur!

Strange Kind Of Purple is an audience recording of Brixton,London 1996.Purple played two nights and there is a SKOP Day 1 and SKOP Day 2.Both bootlegs are Japanese productions and were advertised before the concerts were even recorded.

I haven't checked yet, but I wouldn't be in the least surprised if there were 2 boots with the same title from 2 totally, completely concerts...to say nothing of being from 2 totally different eras of the band featuring 2 different lineups. Lots of bootlegs are from the very same show but are available under a myriad of titles, too.
So, there's a real good chance both you & Larry are correct.
