Yup, but the vocaljob by both singers are awful!

"Operatic" vocalists without even so much as a hint of blues in their voice bore me to tears. Glenn Hughes, among others, included.

There's nothing soulful about it. **** technical expertise or brilliance, I want someone who's voice cracks every once in a while and who sings with skill and conviction without the histrionics that are the bread and butter of so many singers in this genre. My musical heroes are flesh and blood men, not superheroes who awe me with their falsettos.

Re: Live in Paris, 1975

I just learned something incredibly interesting about the writer of the liner notes that evidently went into the final format for the booklet that accompanied this release...check out the link:http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&token=ADFEAEE47C16DD47AB7620E9801A40CAB57FFB0FFE4BF59A1321435992B63E45911A21B370F688ACC6B677AB78A8E02CA45A079FCBEC5CF9DA6C3E3B9D8EDB&sql=10:wifpxqlsldte~T2

...never realized Neil was such an admirerer. emoticon

Ah, we all know the actual writer would take no offense, unless it really is a guy called Neil Young. emoticon

Well spotted, Ed. emoticon I laugh when others flag up allmusic as being something rather special.
From my experience it really isn't.

Weren't they the outfit that did an obituary for Glenn Hughes when the guy out of the Village
People died?

Just listened to this one again, but no matter how good the band plays Glenn gives me the creeps.

I love the sound of this live offering. Especially the solo in Stormbringer. The way Blackmore keeps going and then it sort of bends on a high note at the end. Very fast and heavy, nice Lord interaction at the beginning. The band here sound crisp and in synch. Good stuff we will never hear again outside of this recording.
