I've always wondered: in stepping in after the two first verses -here
- didn't Blackmore steal Jon's solo?

No, they cut the song, I believe. Jon did play his solo first.
On the cd, there's the uncut version.

That's correct, they edited Jon' solo out on the CHOHW CD and DVD.
The question when it comes to the DVD is, did they do it because Jon' solo didn't sound good without the guitar backing him up, or did they do it to make Blackmore look even worse?
It was a sad night i Purple's history...
