Revisionist history, that's what it is. The are writing RB and JL off the band's past. Like Stalin said of historians: "engineers of the human mind"!

Bloody right! But what conspiration is behind this? I bet it's the same mafia responsible for DP never entering the Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame! Now they try to write the entire band off the map! emoticon

It must be the same people who had the idea to get the current line-up to mime to the MH (in other words, 'original') version of SOTW. It's happening, man...

Martin, I see the point, and I've been complaining about it for years... the merchandise department for DP, has always been appointed to incompetent people.
And this error, is no exception.
And is enough to piss mkII fans off... but how about Gillan, admitting to press, that he had his name spelled wrong on ROTD,and discluded himself from being categorized as a "vocalist" by not including his instrument classification, in the credits... if he's going to get that involved, then why allow an error of this magnitiude, fly under his radar? emoticon

Every CD cover, is sampled through a graphic arts company, I used to be a clerk at a local worldwide printer, and I made company face samples, that went out to the customer, in a bundle... someone should have caught the error, atleast at that stage... the bundle, goes to a producer, who then proofs it for every last error of design, from color fading, to letter registration, and compares it to the model, for every word on it, in this case, the model itself contained an unforgivable error. emoticon

I once had to get 1000 flyers printed for the place I was working at. I checked it, my boss cheked it, the printer guy checked it, and my team checked it.

When we got the finished flyers back, there was a sodding typo on them, which everyone spotted within seconds.

For some strange reason, these things happen. There's just no legislating for it.

Usually in my case, the general public would get what they got, at that point, being that the samples I made, were the only ones proofed, the rest got dumped on the customer, without being proofed, thats why the samples have to be as accurate as possible, to seal the deal with the customer.

In the case of the ROTD tour edition, I hope Jon and Ritchie get wind of this, and do something legally to have it corrected, or sue for damages... it's just not kosher, and really shows a bltent disregard for them, no matter who's responsible... emoticon

Trying to get one over on the artists, and anybody else reading the credits... a low down dirty shame.

Might just be laziness or ignorance of those involved in the business end....

... which should result in a grave mistake, it's still imcompetence, to an inflammatory degree.

Agreed...not an excuse...just think about some young kid...no history of the band....just assuming its the same protagonists that have always been in the band....sounds like a lawsuit to me....
