No, he didn't copy Blackmore there. Different style here. He played a bluesy solo in his way with no fast run in there for once

So there was a surprise after all.

Morse playing the original solo in When a blind man cries? What, are you deaf?

I actually love the way Morse plays WABMC! in fact i preferred his earlier versions of the song which were further removed from the original ,the version on Live at the Olympia is fantastic! different from the original but still sublime guitar work

Wow. After hearing that When a blind man cries solo... how can anybody ever be dissapointed with Steve Morse. I´m stunned emoticon

Because he can't write songs or solos like that himself?

Yes, lyrically. Musically, I don't really think so! emoticon

It's a blues jam of monstrous proportions.

No matter how much I would like to see a MKII reunion for a few gigs next year to celebrate their 40th, the current line up is getting better and better by the hour (they have always been a good live band, but now they are even better...)! I haven't been the most supportive guy here one the forum for Steve Morse, but IMO he's improved in the last few years. Seems to me like he is trying to approach the songs with a more bluesfeel, and in classic hard rock that's the way to go!

1-0 to Purple emoticon
