Have you got a question for JJ MARSH?
That's right. JJ Marsh the guitarist for Glenn Hughes' band has kindly agreed to take part in a Q and A here at the board.
JJ's in the process of writing for Glenn's new album and trying to release his solo project 'Albatross' together with Thomas Broman who also has a Q and A set up here:http://com3.runboard.com/bdeeppurplefanforum.fthomasbroman.t1
He's still taking questions, so ask if you have them.
As for JJ, try to keep it to 2 questions per member, this one might get many replys.

Re: Have you got a question for JJ MARSH?
Well, I'll start by asking a question that every North American fan wants to know...
Have you and Glenn discussed doing a complete tour of North America or the U.S?
I'm sure it would make many people extremely happy.

Re: Have you got a question for JJ MARSH?
Hi JJ - thanks for doing the Q&A. I'm a big fan of yours.
1. On the "Legends Of Rock" UK tour in 2002, you played with Glenn and also shared the stage with Uli Jon Roth. Did playing with Uli have any influence on your style? I'm asking because I think I can hear a bit of an Uli influence in your solo work on Sofia (from HTP2).
2. Why did you switch from a Strat to a Flying V for the Soul Mover tour? I think the change was great - the "V" cut through the mix a lot better to my ears.
Thanks for all the great music - looking forward to more of it, both with Glenn and the Albatross project.

Re: Have you got a question for JJ MARSH?
To add on a little to what Big J said.
Who were your main influences? I've noticed the obvious Blackmore and Hendrix influence(correct me if I'm wrong), but growing up who else was their that you really looked to for inspiration?

Re: Have you got a question for JJ MARSH?
JJ! I would like to say thanks for the fantastic gig in Edinburgh with Glenn at the start of the year. It was excellent. I was wondering:
(a) What sort of music you listen to?
(b) What do you make of the current Deep Purple line up? Have you ever met them and what do you think of Steve Morse?
(c) Also what singer other than Glenn would you like to work with?
Thanks for your time JJ!!

Re: Have you got a question for JJ MARSH?
Yes!!
1) What equipment are you using during Orion solo? The sound in the end of the solo sounds familiar to the one by ring modulator to me.
2) What is the secret that you are making things work with Glenn so many years? It may not be easy.

Re: Have you got a question for JJ MARSH?
Hej JJ,
I sent two questions from Japan.
(sorry, my poor English)
1)Where and What kind work do you do usually when you are away from work with Glenn Hughes?
Do you live in Sweden still?
2)What did you do between 1989 (when a Swedish metal band Spellbound was dissolved) and you met Glenn in 1995?
(I know only that you played in a few Simon Steensland's albums.)
I wish you and Glenn come and play in Japan again someday.
Tack.

Re: Have you got a question for JJ MARSH?
Hi JJ,
Saw you twice this year in Holland. At the Arrow festival and at Zoetermeer.
What do you think of playing old DP and Trapeze songs?
During the Arrow festival I thought you played too many DP songs and they were streched too far. You only had an hour and I think it would have been wiser to shorten a few songs and put in one or two shorter tracks.
I love(d) those long improvisations but I think a lot of people who didn't know you well would have been served better with a few more shorter tracks.
Who selects the songs you are going to play?
What are your favourite Glenn Hughes songs?
What is the status of your solocd?
cheers
Theo

Re: Have you got a question for JJ MARSH?
Another Question JJ
In Edinburgh Glenn introduced a song and he said he wrote it for another artist but Chad said no you got to use this song for yourself. The song was either "High Road" or "Land Of The Living" I think. Well who was this song meant to be for?
Thanks again!
