I just received the latest issue of More Black Than Purple [once again, subscription is highly recommended], and it has an interview with Ian Hansford, a member of DP's crew from 1968 to 1973. He tells how Rod Evans called him several times just a few years ago!
Apparently, Evans was, for some reason, quite rude, was calling in the middle of the night, etc. so Hansford told him to stop calling. The interview also informs us that Rod had a bit of a temper. There's an anecdote how he wanted to confront guys in New York he thought were yelling things at his party. Ian Hansford figures Rod's temper might have been a result of the Scottish blood running through Rod's veins!

I have that MBTP issue #35 as well and the Ian Hansford interview was conducted in November 2005. Hansford said about three years ago (2002) Rod phoned him up around 4 am and was rude as Rezi indicated and that Rod had remarried and has two children and currently resides in the Northern part of California but Rod didn't give an exact location. Hansford asked "San Francisco?" and Rod said "No North" and the assumption is that Rod lives just below Oregon.
