Ian Gillan -Naked Thunder
HI there
I've seen 10 track Naked Thunder CD and 11 track Naked Thunder CDs advertised in recent days.
The additional track on the 11 track is Loving on Borrowed Time (I think) What's the correct story on this. Was there 10 tracks on the opriginal LP?
There was an additional track on the 12" single from recollection of my record coleection (it's in my loft and I can't remember its name)

Re: Ian Gillan -Naked Thunder
There are 11 songs on the original album including Loving on Borrowed Time. There were two extra songs as b-sides on two separated singles: Rock 'N' Roll Girls and Hole In My Vest.

Re: Ian Gillan -Naked Thunder
Nothing But The Best was the a-side with Moonshine and Hole In My Vest as the b-sides and it was issued in Germany. Too bad the non-album tracks were never considered for the CD reissues.

Re: Ian Gillan -Naked Thunder
If anyone didn't know Ian Gillan did have a promo video for No Good Luck which was shot in Rio on August 1st & 2nd in 1990. His band did a half dozen gigs down there as well according to issue #40 of Darker Than Blue. I also listened to the complete album this morning and forgot how great his vocal performance is on this recording after all these years. A little bit of AOR in some songs which is interesting because I believe he was not impressed with the AOR material Purple were writing in 1989. Steve Morris' guitar playing sometimes reminded me of Jeff Beck's work on the latter's 1985 album Flash, the song "Moonshine" reminded me of Steve Vai's guitar work and some other songs reminded me of ZZ Top's album Afterburner.
