What's up for 2008?
There are no confirmed tourdates yet for 2008, and we are soon in December. Gillan has mentioned some possible South American and Asian dates, but still nothing is listed.
Classic Rock writes about a Gillan reunion.
Airey commented on a possible new album for 2008 that will "not be like what most people will expect". What ever that means.
So 2008 is still a mystery.

I think it's kind of strange that we are so close to 2008 and nothing is announced.
Re the 40 years, I'm not sure they will make something special out of it. I'm just a little concerned about what the general silence means...

A couple of months off.MAYBE a new record and on tour again.
Gillan reunion...I doubt it, certainly not with Tormé and McCoy.
Of course Madame Gillan might possibly send her husband on a Gillan tour with Michael Lee and others.

As to the 40 year thing, frankly, I think anniversaries are overrated. The boys have been playing this music for a long time. I bet to them it's just another year.

So, from Bruce Payne, there's a tour being planned for the 40th anniversary. Early in the year there will be as announced earlier South America and Asia (don't know if it's still Rapture tour or anniversary tour, and if it changes anything ), then USA, and in the summer big German tour (and I assume the rest of Europa too...).
Recording of the next album next autumn...
And from Gillan, few hopes of a European solo tour; not enough demand from promoters...

I don't think it's just another year. Think of all the fuss that was made about getting Gillan back for the 25th anniversary TBRO album/tour.
I think something will happen, but Steve Morse is on the verge of quitting. I do KNOW that there is a very good chance of Deep Purple and Aerosmith doing a co-headliners tour through North America in early-mid 2008.
