DP in Russia
There was a segment on NPR's Morning Edition today about the Putin's "hand picked successor". The report says that we don't know much about this guy except that he was a law professor and his favorite music is Deep Purple.

Now this is news that will put me off MkMorse forever. It makes me ashamed to be a Deep Purple fan.
What's next? "Made In Tehran"? "The Soundboard series: Live in Pyongyang"? "Robert Mugabes Birthday Party"?

Ups. If that's not just for the money, I rest my case... I hope they at least had to pay far more than the amounts we discussed on the "How much...?" thread!

Re: DP in Russia
I am not especially pro or against them playing at the Kremlin, although I believe that mixing politics and music is a tricky business. This said, Russia and the ex sovietic union countries have become a big rock'n' roll market, where Europe and the U.S. care more about pop, rap and other crap, so this might be a smart commercial move, weither they need it (dp) is something else.
I also believe that any fan (no matter the race, age, religion,...) should be able to attempt a show...Some fans can afford to "buy" themselves a show.
Now, the question of playing for criminals is something else too.
Where do we draw the line? Johnny Cash is pretty famous for having played in prisons, where I am sure there were rappists, killers and thieves.
Because they 're locked up in jail doesn't make them any less of criminals.

Love obviously.

Putin and his gang has killed over and over to get where they are today. What f.ucking doors are Purple opening???
It's a bloody shame if they do it, but I hope they wont...

Re: DP in Russia
Do I have to remind you that dP have already played in Kina?
Not to the communist party but it's still a dictatorship in that country.
