The rumor is that Deep Purple will be co headining a tour with Aerosmith this summer in the US, soon to be either announced or denied.

Who would like to see this happen, regardless of whether you live in the US or not?
Thoughts are of course appreciated as well...

Well, I really have little to no desire to see Aerosmith, so I suppose if Purple opened, then after, I could "do" the meet and greet while Aerosmith was playing...

Yeah...that would be OK. emoticon

Reasonable double header, I guess. Never seen 'Smith live but unless this made it to the UK then I guess I won't.

Are they still a big draw Stateside?

Seems like an opportunity for big bucks and VIP packages that is the corporate way of things nowadays.

BTW welcome back GM! emoticon

living in Scotland I can only think 'whatever!'

I remember that old poster on a thread here where Aerosmith back in the early 70's tried to link themselves as the headline act with Purple! looks like things have gone full circle. Aerosmith are still big stateside it would be interesting to see the reaction to Purple playing in front of what would be fair sized audiences. Just need a singer that can go the distance.....

I can't stand Aerosmith. Ever since that Run DMC bull****.

Aren't they busy recording music for some movie anyway? That's really all they do.

Aerosmith are popular here in the States, but it is starting to go down hill. When they toured with Motley Crew a few years ago here, a lot of people said that they loved Motley Crew, but thought Aerosmith was terrible (but I do live near Philadelphia where people complain more than someone's old mother in law). And last summer, they toured with Joan Jet and played at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City... that's where DP normally play (unless they are at the House of Blues there). So yeah, I could see DP with Aerosmith, and I'd enjoy it, so long as Aerosmith doesn't try to upstage DP.

Aerosmith is only half way through a 100 million dollar record deal, over and above the 25 million that Tyler just made selling some of their/his songs off from, I hope they're still a good draw.

The tour will be of the corporate bondage, and they got together through PAID, the people who handle both of their websites

This will be of that type of after show event, which I find to be a kller show.

Thanks for the "welcome."

Cheers
