By playing one night at Wembley they would quite probably have the big black curtain up partitioning off some of the empty seats again. By playing Hammersmith 3 times they can pretty much guarantee that some fans will go to 2 if not all 3 shows meaning they have more chance of selling out the venue 3 times. That is a pretty shrewed move.

I'm sure you are right! There is certainly a conspiracy somewhere!

Anyway, the best places to take in a Purple show are the small venues. You get a little closer to the stage and the vibe without having all these drunk kids pissing and puking all over you.

My dream would be to see a, preferably, MKII show at a one man venue with a fairly small stage (like the stages Blackmore visits these days) with only me in the audience emoticon

I hope they are playing elsewhere as well, I'm sick of this constant emphasis on London. I hope they're doing the theatres around the UK again like they did in 2002. GRIMSBY AUDITORIUM PLEASE, I WASN'T INTO DEEP PURPLE WHEN THEY PLAYED THERE IN 2002 AND AM GUTTED I NEVER KNEW ABOUT IT/THEM.

I think that's the plan... I read somewhere that Gillan had told they planned to play some smaller venues in the UK, tired of the arena tours, with 3 support bands and a shorter time to play... These Hammersmith dates confirms that, and who knows, they might even play Grimsby again emoticon

At last! I've just received an email from the NEC group and instead of deleting it i opened it to see that Deep Purple are at the NEC on Friday 13 November. Tickets go on sale this Friday (6 February).

Great news but a long wait!

Damn. If they're doing the NEC they'll probably do all the big arenas again emoticon

I think I would travel to Hammersmith instead of seeing them at the Metro Radio Arena here.

I would expect the full tour to be announced later today. I hope it isn't all the arenas with the 90 minute doubled bill set rubbish!

I've just received an email from the SECC saying that Purple are playing the Clyde Auditorium on the 11th of November.

So it looks like it is an arena tour. I read that it is going to be a UK tour of only for dates!
