Y&T and Glyder Cathouse Glasgow 18-09-2008
The venue is a complete dive and the floor the show was on only holds a few hundered but it was jam packed. Thankully for once the sound was brilliant.
I had not heaard any of Glyders material before the show but when they finished I was well impressed, they reminded me a lot of Thin Lizzy at times and hopefully will have a bright future. After their set they took time out to speak to just about everybody and were very genuine guys.
Headliners Y&T were simply stunning.
I first saw the band support AC/DC at the Apollo back in 1982, and last time at the SECC with Gary Moore and Whitesnake.
I feel it would mane no difference to Dave Meniketti if he played to 10 or 10,000 people, he just has to be one of the happiest men in Rock. The band were tight and Dave's voice was superb.
Highlights included
Black Tiger, Midnight In Tokyo, Knock You Out, Dirty Girl, Rescuse Me, Forever, and a brilliant song from Musically Incorrect (a tribute to Jimi Hendrix) and Dave's mini acoustic set when the Bass broke down.
Must be the best 16 quid I have spent.
