Sweet Child
In time, you'll see the line
The line that's drawn between
the good and the bad vocals

la, la, la / la, la, la

As far as Ian's vocals are concerned, I much prefer this version to any other MkII(b) or (c) - for the rest, Morse totally ruins the thing by overshredding...

Honestly, I thought Morse played terrific. It suits the song (the 2002 version of it, that is).
And Gillan sings really great. And look at his hand signals to Morse and Airey...

To me, Morse has shown he's capable of blues sensitivity (such as on "When a Blind Man Cries"). But here, I don't hear any inspiration...

Re: Sweet Child

The only Mk2 track Morse has done well is Pictures of Home, lovely little melodic fills in the bridge/chorus. Fireball is okay, though.

Otherwise, the guy is doing just overdistorted riffing and shredding. But I can understand, it's probably boredom.

Eeeerrrr.... I think, honestly, that they do a very good version of the song, and Steve Morse sounds good to me. I can't see that there are much shredding done by Morse here, and it's certainly not more shredding than Blackmore used to do during the solosection in CiT (in later years)!

I'm impressed by the whole band!!! Great job!!!

Not sure I see the need to apply 'blues sensitivity' to CIT as its not really a blues song. I like this version, different, but interesting. Better than making a vein attempt to re-create a 70s live version (like they failed to in the 80s and 90s).

You're right: what I meant is that I saw Morse capable of sensitivity in his playing, like on "When a Blind Man Cries". I would have expected, considering Gillan's fruitful effort to sing the song in a sober but effective way, that he would bring such sensitivity (but not necessary the same as in "When a Blind Man Cries")...
