When a Blind Man Cries...interesting video

I wonder from what year this one is. It's not Purple, it's Gillan.
I think it's a very nice version.

Niko,
This is from Nottingham 1990. There have been a multitude of releases of this concert and it goes by different names. My VHS tape is titled Ian Gillan Live, my DVD is called Classic Rock Legends and I've seen others as well. He does Smoke, Demon's Eye and When A Blindman Cries on this one, as well as a nice selection of songs off Naked Thunder. There's a storming version of I Thought No off the Gillan/Glover album too. This is one of my favorite versions of Blindman ever. Great performance by the entire band.

And there is the Japanese Laserdisc version with 2 extra songs not available on the VHS&DVD release.
Great concert!

It's strange, but I'm becoming sick and tired of this beautiful song. I was really attracted by it as long as it was a "forgotten" B-side from "The Anthology". This cover by Naked Thunder was certainly a good idea from Gillan which didn't get through to the MkII(c) set list but eventually made it on MkVII's. Now, I've heard it over and over and, apart from the original version, I just can't hear it anymore... Such a shame.

Hmmm... I can understand that. I got a little bored with it for a period too, but after hearing, and seeing, the Montreux 2006 version..... Great version!!! The best versions are those where Steve really plays a slow, "silent" solo.

My VHS has Puget Sound and Sweet Lolita, which are both missing from the DVD release. Are those the two songs you're referring to?

My VHS has the following tracklist:
1 Gut Reaction
2 Demon's Eye
3 Living for The City
4 Puget Sound
5 Sweet Lolita
6 No More Cane on The Brazos
7 I Thought No
8 When a Blind Man Cries
9 No Good Luck
10 Lucille
11 Smoke on The Water

The DVD/CD set has this tracklist:

1 Gut Reaction
2 Demon's Eye
3 Living for The City
4 No More Cane on The Brazos
5 I Thought No
6 When a Blind Man Cries
7 No Good Luck
8 Lucille
9 Smoke on The Water

Yes. it certainly one of the Machine Head track that Steve plays the best. But for instance, I didn't like the cover by The Hootchie Cootchie Men.

It seems that the VHS release and Japanese LD have the same track listings. So those 2 songs are missing on the DVD release only.
Thanks for putting this right metaljim1.
