Niko, Stormbringer is one of my favourites as well, and indeed the most played DP album nowdays (the others are LLRO box, and in particular the discs with Mk2 BBC cuts on them, and PS). I think Stormbringer could be the most contemporary sounding Purple album in the catalog, and I bet there are millions of people out there who would probably love this album, but they have no clue; because most people who think DEEP PURPLE, think the MK2 years and that's usually to volatile for their musical taste (distorted organ? what's that all about), but the Stormbringer album with it's softer rock sound would probably score lots of points with people who like lighter rock these days.
Over the weekend I had five CD's in my 5 disc player...
1) Stormbringer
2) Shades Of Deep Purple
3) Who Do We Think We Are
4) Slaves and Masters
5) Purpendicular
...the family didn't have a clue they were being inundated by DEEP PURPLE.

Yeah, the album could have a wider or at least different audience than most DP albums.
Some of my mates who are into soul and contemporary 'lounge' rate the album as about the only DP album worth listening to!
