I'm not going to be able to name all sources because I remember the quotes more than anything, so people will just have to believe some of them according to how well they can sense through knowing enough about him to think he would say such things.
For instance, I can't remember where I read this one, but it was a BN interview sometime in the last ten years.
If you didn't play guitar, what do you think you would be doing instead.

Simon Robinson isn't head of the Deep Purple 'fan club'. He runs the DPAS: Deep Purple Appreciation Society. Odd that it's quoted he doesn't like the band. This is the same guy that enthused profusely about Purpendicular and his writings in Darker Than Blue are the complete opposite of the notion that he doesn't like the band. But then its quoted from the MBTP rag, and that says all you need to know.

I think Simon is a much bigger fan of Deep Purple than Ritchie Blackmore himself. I wouldn't trust Ritchie Blackmore if he would advise me which Purple tracks to listen to. I'm not sure Ritchie can be a fan of whoever anyway. Certainly not of himself.

I think that's where Blackmore touches hypocrisy in saying (just as in the interview quoted by MrEd) that he has a problem with the management, not with the band. Let's say that the band had a problem with him. The management will just sniff the money where it is, because that's their job.

Blackmore had problems with the management and he had a problem due to the fact that Gillan came back for the 25th anniversary. Reason? My guess would be that Blackmore didn't want Gillan in the band because he lives a completely different life than TMIB himself, Blackmore wanted to take Purple down the AOR road as he did with Slaves & Masters and he knew that Gillan wouldn't agree since Gillan is more of a rock'n'roll kinda guy. Aboeve everything, he would loose control over the band!

Of course you're right, he had problems with the management, but those problems were not the ones which caused the final MkII break-up.

Blackmore didn't change his tune by complaining about the management till "much" after he expressed a pocket full of other reasons for leaving out of his own frustrations.
