Bernie Marsden

His website was last updated 2006, can't log into classicwhitesnake.com, no news about any collaborations, no tours no nothing.

What is happening in the world of Bernie Marsden?

Re: Bernie Marsden

Well, last year saw him at the Sunflower Jam. He's probably active playing English clubs with his blues band. Though I'd like to hear from him more often.

Re: Bernie Marsden

Bernie's been very quiet this last 18 months now. he made a lot about his release plans for last year, several albums & some exclusive tracks for download.

In the meantime i stumbled onto a strange little item, called Blues Rock, Bad Ass'd Boogie Driven Hot Licks" on the extreme music label XCD026, by Burnin' Bernie Marsden, honest thats the name on the cd.

28 tracks, the 1st 14 of which are original blues instrumentals, the 2nd 14 are 30sec excerpts of songs.I've known of the album for a couple of years but only just tracked down a copy on ebay.de.

Tracklist as follows
01 - Double Trouble
02 - Poke In The Butt
03 - Blood Brothers
04 - Lil' Green Land
05 - Heartbreaker
06 - Jimi Diddley
07 - Ballad Of Joliet
08 - Steal My Thunder
09 - Firewater
10 - Jellybean Jump
11 - Like Lightnin' Strikin'
12 - Get You Shorty
13 - Memphis Dose
14 - Highway 45
15 - Street Corner Ruff Rockin' Rooster
16 - Slick Slim Slides Stateside
17 - Stax-Volt Hoochie-Coochie
18 - Mojo Talkin' Leadbelly Mooch
19 - Doctor Slo-Hand, I Got It Bad
20 - Hand Jivin', 2 Bit Shave 'N' A Haircut
21 - Mississippi Delta Plantation Picnic
22 - T-Bone Slink & Duck Walk
23 - Psychedelic Voodoo, Neat From The Bottle
24 - Swingtime, Bluesology, A Real Cherry
25 - Jumpstart Boogie Woogie
26 - Bluesharp Shuffle 'N' Shimmy Showdown
27 - One Big Roomful Of Blues
28 - Professor Blinds Long Tall Howling Jam

I'm currently awaitng a reply from bernie on the subject.

Re: Bernie Marsden

Well i'll update what i wrote on the previous post with some news.
The cd metioned above is a sort of library recording, for the media industry to sample Bernie's wears, it was never intended for commercial release, so if you like his blues, track a copy down.

I had a phonecall from Bernie tonight, so i took the oppotunity to ask a few brief questions.

So in summary here's the answers.

He's joined that grand english tradition of shopkeeper, OH YES, Mr Marsden has opened a shop selling blues things, records, paraphenalia etc. I can just see him in a brown coat a la Arkwright. It's a proper shop, in a street selling to the passing public, more details to follow.

New album in the not to distant future.

He's been digging around in the Adrian Smith sessions tapes box, he tells me that i'd like them, YES I WOULD BERNIE, PLEASE SEND.

Reading between the lines i think M3 is now pretty much done and dusted.

It's a possibility that MMB may put in an appearence at some point in the future, it's not ruled out.

Possibility of a set of "rare" discs, collecting together alt takes, demo's etc.
Also says he got a fair amount of soundboard recordings from years ago, although he didn't expand on that.

Hope that helps.

Re: Bernie Marsden

Thanks Retro900!

His albums are hard to find, for example Big Boy Blue and Stacks. Any suggestions where those could be found? He had a CD store in his website, but that does not work anymore...

Re: Bernie Marsden

I remember seeing an advert around the end of 2007 for the music store 'Sound Control', in Edinburgh. Bernie was doing some guitar stuff at one of these demo evenings that crop up. Unfortunately, I missed it emoticon

Re: Bernie Marsden

Whether it happens or not, his "NEW" website is due for launch this week.
Also he's playing a blues gig in Newbury Berks on May 2, part of the spring festival events.

Re: Bernie Marsden

His earliest recorded material (I think) just got released on the UFO remaster of their 1974 Phenomenon album. He recorded four demos while in the band and they've put two of them on this new remaster.
