Red Rocks show cancelled after 4 songs!!
Yep....I was there. He looked fine but sounded AWFUL.
His voice is giving out on us lads....this isn't time for taking the piss...honestly I've never been so concerned for his future. Even after his many pauses I knew he was coming back but...this....well...this is something different all together.
I foresee a tour cancellation
I hate to sound so fatalistic but I think we may be witnessing the last we of DC as a performing artist. Another shame is that a significant portion of the audience came to see Whitesnake.
Sad Days all....
Jeff

Re: Red Rocks show cancelled after 4 songs!!
I'm sorry to hear that, Jeff. They just walked off or was some kind of explanation given?
Even though he's obviously having some problems right now, I'm sure he'll be back at the same level he has been for the last couple of years, after some time off. If he wants to go on like this is another question altogether of course.

He indicated his voice was not hacking it. It was a graceful exit considering the circumstances.
Daniel...he really did give it the "ole College try" but it was no use. It was really sad to watch

Re: Red Rocks show cancelled after 4 songs!!
just that his voice was just.....gone. He may legitimately be ill...which in hindsight I should take into account. David just couldn't hit any appreciable mid range notes and he was very...croaky. I guess the sad part was you coud really see him TRYING very hard to make it through.
He sounded worse than those Vegas clips.

Must have felt strange when they walked off after 4 songs. Did you stay for Priest?

Not a Priest fan....I probably should have stayed to get my money's worth but I left with about a quarter of the audience. Which surprised me. More there to see Whitesnake than I thought.

Yeah....that's about what I was expecting. Which leads me to believe that this experience isn't health related as much as it is...reality

Re: Red Rocks show cancelled after 4 songs!!
Well he had laryngitis which forced him to cancel Phoenix. He went on at Vegas sounding bad, and maybe it just caught up with him at Red Rocks. Even though he may be unable to do the remaining dates on the tour, I'm sure a few weeks off and his voice will be back to "normal" again. But maybe this was the last of the big rock tours?
