Here's a clip of Best Years from Denver. It's not quite as bad as I remember it, but you can tell he's losing his voice toward the end.

That's the only one I'm aware of.
I just tried it again and it's still there.

Re: Red Rocks show cancelled after 4 songs!!
Been going back to Come an Get It again, an album I feel rates as one of, if not DC's best performance on record.
Check out Don't Break My Heart Again, when Paicey really comes in, how Murray's bass just gets a little bit louder/stronger. Makes the impact of the song so much greater. It's the little things that do it...
What a band and record this is/was. This was also around the time DC's trademark "breathing" really came to the fore (thankfully). DC and Birch really knew how to capture it, and I've always loved how he got that sound, the way he integrated it in the music. The man at his peak.

Couldn't agree more- I actually think this record and Ready an' Willing are DC's greatest recorded vocal performances. He had really "found" his voice at this stage of his career and it sounded very different, much richer than it had been in DP. The vocal melody in the 1st verse of Fool For Your Loving is actually incredible-melody wise, not one line is the same as the last one which is quite unusual song-wise. It is also brilliantly sung and builds superbly through to the final vocal crescendo after the guitar solo, with not a scream to be heard!!

Re: Red Rocks show cancelled after 4 songs!!
It seems from this statement that the problem is not to dramatic, or at least it isn't percieved as so.
DC: Ahh...Good day, my Loves...I genuinely appreciate your care & concern, but, may I assure You All that I am now safely home & doing well...all I need to do is to rest my vocal cords for a couple of weeks...The REALLY difficult thing is for me to shut the F up... I am not on any medication...other than room temp waters to stay hydrated...I have a list of do’s & don’ts...& don’t even think about it, Mate! I'll be back to see the exceptionally good specialists in a couple of weeks...Until then, I would appreciate everyone not worrying...everything will be fine...I'm at my beautiful home, surrounded by all my books...all my big boy toys that will help keep me busy & distracted while I rest up...Mmm...my steam room...where I’ll be spending lots of reflective time...an incredible Tahoe Summer that I will enjoy to the max...&, of course, my favourite Family in the whole wide world... Of course, I sincerely regret being unable to complete the Red Rocks show...that was tough..on such a gorgeous evening & after a being given a heartwarming, inspiring reception...A hard decision to stop...& then to be unable to finish the US tour with Priest, but, obviously, it was not to be...With hand on heart I thank Judas Priest & their fine crew for extraordinary hospitality & camaraderie...& of course, my fantastic band & crew for their amazing support...Without a doubt, that includes the wonderful responses we received all over the US from you golden people...Treasured memories...Thank you, a thousand times...now...with respect, let's get on with our lives, my Friends... Big Love & LIGHT...DC...XX

Hear hear! Old DC - the master of playing with a melody Remember the Hit an Run outro? Lovely stuff.
NP: Lonely Days
- David's mournful main vocal underpinned by Murray's snake like bass rhythm. Equally good stuff.
The album is full of details to check out and come back to: Jon's dramatic "chords" underneath the guitar solo in Don't Break (possibly the quissential WS song?). We also have Paicey's drumming in general. Still, on the records they never really captured Paicey the way he sounded live around this time. Check out Reading Festival 80 for evidence of this. The boot I have sounds as if it was recorded next to Ian's kit. Energetic as hell and better than the Live in the Heart... album.

Re: Red Rocks show cancelled after 4 songs!!
Well, it seems to me that that's it for poor old David in America. This was supposed to be his next and probablt the major attempt to hit it in there and support at least a bit the latest record. Even if he manages to resechedule the shows, which isn't easy as we all know to organise a US tour for a band like Whitesnake, I don't believe he'll manage to receive any more response than just a medicore one. It's a pity but it's time for a change, David.
