Re: Red Rocks show cancelled after 4 songs!!
Well, DC is reporting the following on his webite this morning:
"Not long now, Kiddievinkies, before I’m howling out notes only dogs & very, very smart & sexy people can hear."
I take that to mean that the penny has NOT dropped and that he's not going to change a thing.

The "notes only dogs can hear" talk is getting very old by now... In his heart he must know how he used to sound and how he sounds today.

From what I read in that quote it sounds like DC is being a bit ironic.

Acoustic's the way to go. Here's Jeff Scott Soto doing an emotional take on Is this Love:

The question remains whether DC would be able to pull it off like this. I think the range could be a problem for him even here.

Re: Red Rocks show cancelled after 4 songs!!
Possible acoustic project in the future?
"Yes, ALE...there are acoustic ideas being floated around, tho’, first we must sort out the contractual circumstances of the record company collapse before we commit to another project..."
So provided the record company issues get sorted out, maybe an acoustic record followed by shows to support it?
In any case, I guess WS will be on hiatus for a while.

Re: Red Rocks show cancelled after 4 songs!!
In hindsight I think this tour was going to be the last for a couple years anyway. Throw in the vocal problems and the record company collapse and you've got a perfect excuse for David to take 18 months off.

Re: Red Rocks show cancelled after 4 songs!!
In response to a question if he's considered playing instruments on his own albums:
"It’s rare for me to even consider recording myself on an album, other than singing, after I’ve worked on the demos...It doesn’t occur to me simply because I work with such excellent musicians...tho’, it’s possible that will change when I start recording, or performing more acoustic driven songs..."
So I guess he may go acoustic for the next project, followed by touring to promote it? In late 2010 / early 2011?

Doug Aldrich has also mentioned that he is working on more acoustic song ideas, ala the last track on GTBB. So I think that if we there will be another WS album, it will be far more acoustic and not as 87-ish as GTBB

Re: Red Rocks show cancelled after 4 songs!!
"I don’t think I’ll be making a whole traditional style blues album...as much as I love the blues...I like taking the essence of the blues & flavouring my songs with it...Who knows...I never thought I’d make the last studio album...so, I am somewhat shy of making solid statements I’ll likely break sometime down the road!!!...I definately feel another album in me bones tho’...but, for the moment I’m enoying being home & minimal responsibility..."
