I just listened to it. What a great performance! DP at it's very best. This show is way better than any of the great shows they played on the TBRO tour.
Gillan sings great and Blackmore.... maybe one of his best alltime perfomances.

What a fire... superb!

Was it ever recorded officially?

I don't think it was recorded.

I was at the show in Oslo two days earlier, and it was just as good. I got bootlegs of both shows (got the Oslo show on VHS- anybody got the DVD?), and they're both truly great.

To bad that it ended in such a bad way, but what if everything was OK within the band? Would they still have sounded as good as they did? IMO, no!

I have also both shows, but Helsinki is still better than Oslo, although Oslo is also very good!
Blackmore did very nice things in Oslo, but I haven't heard a show of that tour which is played with so much energy and so tight!

And Blackmore at his very, very best!

Yep! Blackmore was just brilliant in Oslo! It was like he was saying "Goodbye for now and forever. I really want to show off this time and you ****ers, remember this" emoticon

You're obviously forgetting the "fact" that they were ****e and playing really badly, especially RB, to half full theatres.

 I'm not sure if the concert was meant to be 'officially' recorded, but it's been available - with extremely good sound quality - as a bootleg for quite a while now, usually titled as "Finish In Finland".

Yes, I'm talking about that bootleg. But it would be nice if it was officially recorded and released with a good production/mixing.

For a bootleg, the sound is great indeed.

That's impossible, since it would prove that Gillan constantly lies about these shows. It'll never happen. Expect new live versions of Smoke On the Water by the Gillan/Glover DP cover band instead.
