Recommended Bootlegs
I have bought MIJ and enjoyed it thoroughly and it has left me with a thirst for more mk2 live stuff.
What are some of the famous (any soundboards?) 1970 and or 1971 DP gigs?

Re: Recommended Bootlegs
- amsterdam 24.8.69 (not 1970 or '71, but very recommendable, circulating as bootleg)
- montreux 4.10.69 (released officially on purple records / sonic zoom)
- bbc in concert february 1970 (official)
- aachen 11.7.70 (released officially on purple records / sonic zoom)
- stockholm 12.11.70 (circulating as bootleg for a long time, now released officially)
- arhus 24.4.71 (not soundboard, but very good audience regarding its age)
- long beach 30.7.71 (FM, circulating as bootleg)
and if MIJ makes you thirsty, the following from 1972 might be interesting for you too:
- kopenhagen 1.3.71 (dvd, official)
- bbc in concert march 1972 (official)
that's what comes to my mind without checking my collection ... no warranty for being complete.

Re: Recommended Bootlegs
Live in Stockholm 1970 is the best DP recording I've ever heard.

The quality is unfortunatly poor on both but the two Rainbow shows(june 30th and july 1st) of that year are incredibly awesome and probably the closest you get to the brilliance of Made In Japan.

It's a shame that they didn't film these or at least something around the period of 1972/73 like The Song Remains The Same, except without the silly fantasy bits.

Re: Recommended Bootlegs
Ritchie's last gig on DVD is on Dime-(Helsinki Finland)-not great footage but good enough IMO--Ian is good as is Ritchie.........The band is meaner than most of what I've heard in that timeframe.......
