I seem to have misunderstood the meaning of "gutting", English is not my first language, I thought it referred to the bravest event. Having looked the word up I'll have to say thay the most gutting Purple event was kicking Gillan out back in the late '80s. That and bringing in Joe Lynn Turner...

Favourite Non-Purple: Pink Floyd; then come the Stones, Sabbath, Zeppelin, The Strokes, Lennon, Oasis, Queen, Wolfmother ( a cool new hard-rockin' band with elements of Pink Floyd, The White Strioes and flower-power rock; but their biggest influences are DP and Sabbath ), Maiden (btw, they have a live album or bootleg called MaidenJapan ), etc
