Re: Whats Ritchie Actually Like?
Asking Brian about Ritchie Blackmore is like asking speedy about Heather Findlay!

Re: Whats Ritchie Actually Like?
I hope Brian doesn't want to do the same thing to Ritchie as speedy wants to do to Heather!

Re: Whats Ritchie Actually Like?
So Heather is no woman? Or can I assume right she's wearing make-up?

Re: Whats Ritchie Actually Like?
I would hate to see her without make-up.
Sorry but I prefer the days when women looked feminine. Now they tend to look like navvies from a building site when they go out.( gosh, im enjoying this) bring it on girlies(hee hee)

Hellooooooo
Hello Brian?
Yes
What's Ritchie Blackmore really like in person?
Ok here goes.
Anytime I have met and talked with him for any length of time, he has been very cordial to begin with. Of course my end of the conversation always starts with something like "I bow to you oh great one". He's a very humble person and seems very thankful for any compliments you may throw his way. He has a shy/reserved disposition but if he senses you are uncomfortable and at a loss for words to continue the conversation beyond your initial hero worship he will draw you into a conversation. This is quite surprising at first because you always think he's going to just blow you off after a few niceties but he senses that you would really like to continue so he will begin talking about something relevant to where you are or what's going on. For example, one New Years eve my wife and I ran into he and Candice and Rob Fodder at a restaurant in New Hope PA. I was in a state of shock at seeing him and started to mutter questions about his upcoming album, (SOTM) which he really seemed to appreciate which also told him that I really was a fan, since it had only been mentioned in a Guitar magazine at the time and they were still working on it. I'm sure he sensed I was nervous after that and he just started to draw me into a conversation about the Restaurant/Inn being haunted and that's why they were staying there. I had already known the history of this place because it's in the American directory of Haunted Inns and I had already been interested in this sort of thing. He is also very funny, but you have to be paying attention because his wit is Monty Python quick. He will say things just to get a reaction and make sure you are paying attention.
Another person who could probably give a more in depth personal view of Ritchie would be his Personal assistant of many years Rob Fodder who frequents these forums often. He can give more in depth analysis from a personal friend point of view rather than my hero worship standpoint.
Rob has given many interesting stories in the last issue of MBTP about RB's last days in Deep Purple on the TBRO tour. I would suggest any fan of Ritchies to subscribe to MBTP (More Black Than Purple).

Re: Whats Ritchie Actually Like?
It seems to me that no one can tell what Ritchie is actually like, he appears to be actively trying to conceal his true personality by contradicting himself all the time.
