If you get some pics of him on the ceremony, let us knowemoticon
I hope, that he will get 2 awards for best actors... But in the 1st category Dom Purcell from PB is also, I think, possible to win. (Fortunately there's no Wentworth Miller around - if he had been, he would probably have won everything... He's such a great actor... )

Re: AFI Awards 2007

No worries girls. I'm recording the show (it's on as I type) I'll post some screen caps when it's finished.
Eric and Geoffery Rush did a funny thing to Munich. They dubbed their voices over the original version of a scene from the movie. Really funny.
Eric seemed to be there on his own. Guess the wife is too preggers. lol
Don't think I'll be able to upload any video though, my computer crashed big time and I no longer have the conversion program I need to upload the video to the net and it's also copyright material.

Here are the results so far.

Re: AFI Awards 2007

I don't have all the results yet, some of the more minor awards were presented yesterday and I'm still tracking down the winners.

Here's a quote from Eric
quote:

Romulus, My Father was named the best film of 2007, while the movie's star Eric Bana won the best actor award.

He thanked his "Romulus family", including director Richard Roxburgh, from the winner's podium.

He said he always hoped people who were fans of Raimond Gaita's critically acclaimed memoir, on which the film is based, would like the movie, and anything else was a bonus.

"It's been a real thrill, it really has," Bana said.

"It's been a real labour of love."

Bana's 11-year-old co-star Kodi Smit-McPhee may have lost out on the best actor award, but picked up the young actor award.

Bana star had nothing but praise for the up-and-comer.

"He did an amazing job," Bana said.

"He's a great young kid and a brilliant actor, so he really deserved to be nominated."

Eric's wife was there after all, just saw her on the news.

Thanks for the good news Stardustemoticon

YAY YAY YAY indeeeed! The right guy won emoticon and awards to his costars Marton Csokas and Kodi Smit-McPhee and Romulus best movie! Not bad for a first time director and his movie!
Natalie Portman got it right when she said that Eric is a funny and good guy and great actor....

You are sooo right ms Portman emoticon
"I've admired him for such a long time and was so excited when he agreed to be in the film(TOBG)."
Portman said the 1.89m tall Bana did not stack on weight for the role, like he did in his breakthrough performance in Chopper seven years ago, but he had a big, bushy beard.
"He looks great," Portman said.
"He's so big and massive and Scarlett and I are so little, it makes a really great visual."

It is so nice to see pics of him againemoticon

I hoped that perhaps he was the winner of the best actor award as the producers of TTTW obviously rescheduled shooting to make it possible for him to attend the event! And he must have been rushed in a hurry via private jet in the "last minute" to Melbourne emoticon

AND THE WINNER HE WAS
  emoticon emoticon
