His Dark Materials : The Golden Compass (2007) According to Coming Soon Eric Bana is set to play in the movie "His Dark Materials : The Golden Compass" with Nicole Kidman.
Australia’s Eric Bana looks set to join fellow countryman Nicole Kidman in “His Dark Materials : The Golden Compass”, according to a report on the Coming Soon website.
Quoting an interview that “Casino Royale” sexpot Eva Green recently gave Studio Mag, the site says that Bana’s one of three new blokes onboard – the other two being Kevin Bacon and screen veteran John Hurt.
Kidman plays Mrs. Coulter in Chris Weitz's upcoming movie based on the ‘His Dark Materials’ trilogy by Philip Pullman. No word on who Bana is playing yet.
The abovementioned trilogy is comprised of "The Golden Compass," "The Subtle Knife" and "The Amber Spyglass". It revolves around a young girl who travels to the far north to save her best friend. Along the way, she encounters shape-shifting creatures, witches, and a variety of otherworldly characters in parallel universes.”
(Bit of a “Bond” connection with the film – Eva Green and Daniel Craig are reuniting for this one)

Re: His Dark Materials : The Golden Compass (2007) It sounds more like a cameo appearance. I read in one of EB´s interviews that he very much wanted to do some sort of cameo - perhaps this is the opportunity

Bana is not adit to the cast list and i know that doenst mean that he is not playing in this movie(To me the cast lits was not finist-> go to the site and see). But there is always the changes that Bana will not play in this movie because this maybe all a Rumor so don't keep your hopes up.
Re: His Dark Materials : The Golden Compass (2007) I think this movie is based on a book that is part of a trilogy, and they're planning other films. Could it be that EB will play a part in one of the OTHER movies? Maybe that's how the rumors (about him and Kevin Bacon joining the cast) got started. Does anyone have any info about sequels to this? I have not read the books. Would love to see Eric an ANYTHING at this point. We've had a long drought!
