Banatic Moments

So, O.K., Browneyes7 and I got into a conversation about "Banatic Moments". Let me give you a few examples-

quote:

I also had to 'tell' somebody about the Bana. I was on a subway train & this girl was reading TOBG - & I interupted her & asked her if she knew who EB was - she didn't really. So I listed all his movies for her & told her he is quite a hunk & my favorite actor. (my girlfriend, sitting next to me, just laughed her head off-& my sister-in-law couldn't believe I went on and on to a stranger about EB).

And then there was this-

quote:

I had an incident at work once when someone brought in the "most beautiful" issue of People. I saw his picture, and, from what my co-workers tell me, I spent the next 10 minutes listing Mr. Bana's entire body of work and a brief synopsis of each movie. All I remember is looking up and seeing several people staring at me like a grew another head. Oh, did I mention I work in a psych hospital? Yeah, I'm pretty sure they were looking for an open bed...

And, of course this (which I laughed about for a long time emoticon
quote:

This happened to me last summer. I went to the local hot dog stand @ lunchtime. The fellow who took my order had deep dark, impenetrable eyes like Eric. When he looked at me I blushed & dropped the french fries, breaking the whole bag on the floor. This only made matters worse. I didn't go back to that place for over a year.

All this got me to thinking, there must be some great stories about Banatics "sharing the love".

Do you have one? Post it here!!

lol that's definitely a nice subject. I can't say I can add something like that...our UPS driver has Eric eyes and is extremely nice but so far I was able not to drop something (apart from that he brings all stuff upstairs lol)

I just can add that I met many great people thanks to Eric and this forum. Three of them I met IRL and we became even better friends with at least one yearly meeting. Hopefully I meet the next one soon.

My friend's hubby met Eric in Melbourne where they had the same shop which repairs bikes. I suppose they didn't know Eric if I hadn't told them lol

Nothing major just wanted to keep that thread alive, it's a good idea emoticon

I don't know if you would consider this a "Banatic moment", but after perusing the incredible pics and videos on various sites over the last few days--including your glorious forum!! emoticon --I though to myself today....."You know, he's not JUST hot....he's actually a very articulate, charming, grounded guy!" emoticon

@miz fox: (by the way, I love your fox - & the walking sign)

Just an aside here. I had seen Eric in movies, & he just didn't register a heartbeat with me - although, I do remember the characters he played. The bedroom scene in Munich is what turned me on - and that's when I looked him up on-line. When I read about his life, his love for his family, & how he didn't want to get caught up in the hollywood scene, but instead go back home as soon and as much as he could - that sold me on him. So yes, you are right - when we find out more about the real 'him' that's what we really like.

I'd say my EB 'aha' moment was when I saw an interview he did just before 'Munich' came out, and he was so sweet and nice, talking about his wife & kids all the time, and why he refuses to move to Hollywood, Melbourne will always be home for him, and I thought 'What an awesome guy! Good looking, tall dark & handsome, and a wonderful family man! I'm sold!' emoticon emoticon

My banatic moment was when i was driving in Hollywood and I saw a bilboard for Troy. I didnt find Pitt atractive cause blonde dudes dont do the trick for me, and bloom was a bit skinny. I noticed Eric and I thought, humm who is that?

So later when the movie came out on pay per view, I remebred EB and he looked SOOO good with the long hair and beard. Plus I remeber him doing Leno and though he was funny, charming AND good looking.... and it's been magic ever since (sigh) emoticon emoticon

He he, another thing I want to share is that the people at my office know about EB, then I will casualy mention him in conversation and they'll be like oh you have anew boyfrien and then I'll say no, then they laugh cause I refer to him as if I know him, they think it cute emoticon emoticon

I don't know if we can take this as a moment Banatic, but when I saw the film "Hulk", in the end when Eric said in his beautiful Spanish: "No te gustaría verme enojado" ("Don't you like to see me angry") I swear that love me more by Eric! I felt very close to hear him speak in my language. It may seem silly but, to this day that scene still seems to me totally "Banatic"!!!

I like that scene too, Sandra! The tag line from the series here in America in the 1980's was Bill Bixby's 'David Banner' saying to the reporter pursuing the Hulk "You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.' I speak a little Spanish, from 3 years of it in high school, and plus I live in California, I'd be pretty dim if I didn't pick up something!

I was always sure that it wasn't tranlated exactly right into English, the gist of it was more 'You won't like it when I'm angry'... (toddles off to babelfish.com for translation...) eh, close enough! emoticon
