This movie 'I Love Huckabees'

I watched the DVD yesterday...
I'm glad I rented it cause if I owned it...
I would burn it...

It totally sucked !!

Image

It was one of those movies that makes you pissed off
that you sat throught the whole thing and watched until the end...

Image

Total Thumbs Down !! Image

Ok I watched this other DVD 'Sideways'

Was a weird movie !!
But it wasn't horrible...

Image

It's about two looser guys on vacation...

Image

I will at least give it kudos for showning full frontal nudity
in an "R" rated American film...
Not in a sexual way...
More like the guy is running naked and it shows his wanker...

But at least that's a start for Americans...
To show more full frontal nudity...

 emoticon

The movie is set in Central California...Wine Country...
I absolutely love this area of California !!
So I enjoyed this movie for the scenery more so than the dialog...

So I think it's worth at least a rental fee ...

Cross-posted in Orlando Bloom - thread.

Okay gals, I saw KOH last night ... what to say? My sister and I were surprised emoticon

... because a) we liked the movie and b) it's Legolas best role since he played himself in LotR emoticon - it's true! Orlandolas is more convincing as Balian than as Will Turner + Paris together! emoticon

Okay, let's have a look at my short review - but beware, there are some spoilers!

Image Image Image Image Image Image Image

Some facts:

- camera shots and cuts are great --> looks very "artistic" => the star of "Kingdom of Heaven" is not the script or any of the actors, it is the director's unmatched gift for the visual (quote)
- beautiful and detailed costumes
- brilliant score! especially the chorus parts (->'typical sacred music') -> Harry Gregson-Williams did a great job! emoticon
- speed of the film is good, no (or less) lengthy & boring scenes
- the actor of Saladin (Ghassan Massoud) shows that he's a great performer, because of his 'humanity of performance'! I was very impressed by him!!
- OB was better than expected, especially at the beginning, when he worries about his faith; OB shows the development of his character convincingly and imho, you believe him in his role as defender of Jerusalem
- the play of Jeremy Irons & Liam Neeson was great - as always; and you notice, how much OB must still learn when you see the performance of them both
- message of the movie has a huge importance nowadays: each religion has the right to have its place in Jerusalem - in many points, the 3 main religions are familiar - and violence is no solution!
- the script could have been better in my opinion, but it stands as close as it could to reality, and the dialogues are largely intelligent
- sometimes I was a bit shocked by the violent scenes (battle) --> much blood is shown
- and I think, there could have been more scenes focussing the Muslims, because they're the most honorable, the most gentlemanly characters in the film -> they show, what humanity IS, and not the Christians

=> Good movie! emoticon

We rented and watched this last night. I'd give it 8+. I've actually never liked Tom Hanks, I mean there's nothing seriously bad or horrible about the guy, but I just think he's an average actor. Catherine Zeta-Jones is pretty but this was definitely NOT her best movie so far.
But the movie did have it's own good moments, like when they had dinner on a balcony at the airport and Victor's friends tried to entertain the couple...

NOT Spielberg's best either, but like I said, a few good moments, a few good laughs too!
