icons...

does anyone here know how to make icons? like how do you cut a picture down to size and how do you insert text on it? do you need any kind of extra icon-making software or something? i dont know - help if you can, please.

..actually I don't need any special program to make avatars/signature banners...

.I use just Fastone Image Wiever to cut and resize and for the rest I use a freeweare program GIMP emoticon - just google them^^... ..

.and now I'm gonna brag with my little stuff emoticon

.but I gotta warn you - I have faze for HEROES tv show in last days xD
