Re: the round table

*** LADY ANNA ***

The dark pink thread has ended and lady Ann looked at her embroidery with tender. It was a portrait of a young beautiful man with blue eyes and curly dark hair. His upper lip still stayed unfinished and before going on her work, the lady touched it gently with her finger and felt a warm wave went through her body. Tonight? She would see him tonight?.. After four months of dreams and exciting memories. How could she forget his long looks that made her turn her eyes away, those sudden touches and then three dances for the one evening! She had a long talk with her mother about her bad behavior on that king’s feast. And dear lady Luinaris! She had noticed this secret game between two young people even at the dinner and a bit later she found the right time to introduce the young knight to lady Ann and her mother. The blessed moment! His name was Galahad. Loved name that sounded like an incantation. Anna remembered his hands that held her waist tenderly but firmly during the dances, and the sweetest feeling of closeness when her forehead touched the young man’s cheek ... And tonight she’d see him again. And also her dear friends - lady Luinaris, lady Julie and lady Tina - that would be the real feast ! They knew about her feelings. And they liked to discuss it in their letters. Dear ladies! They were all married already and their husbands were noble knights whom lady Anna admired much. But Galahad was a newcomer, nobody knew a lot about him, so all Anna could do was to hope and wait...
The most exciting day for the young lady was also the saddest one – she saw Galahad one more time when he visited hastily her castle before his leaving with king Erictor and his brave knights for a long and dangerous drive. She blushed at once then as her maid told her that a young knight came to see lady Anna. Luckily her mother had a rest after dinner, so the lovers could stay alone for some time. After the common phrases were spoken, lady Anna was lost what to do and what to say. Then Galahad stepped forward, took her hand and put a little medallion on her palm. Then he squeezed it gently with his both hands and got down on his knee. He said that they had to leave tomorrow morning and God knows whether they see each other or not. But medallion would remind the young lady about him and his love. The brief kiss on her wrist followed his words and he stood up awaiting. Anna couldn’t move. She wanted to rush to this dear man and lost in his arms and not to think about tomorrow and... she stood like a statue instead. The knight looked in her eyes full of tears, left her arm, stepped back, bowed and went out. Anna opened slowly her hand and caught a few teardrops on it. Oh, God, there was a tiny portrait of Galahad on the medallion!

Nice view!...
Galahad winced but didn’t look back. He was deep in thoughts when Dagonet’s voice turned him back to earth. He stood on the balcony, looking into the darkness and harsh wind tousled his hair and cloak.
Huh, here’s bloody cold! - Dagonet shivered. - What are you looking at? ... Ahh, thinking of lady Anna... -he paused - ... or that pretty country girl? - he stepped closer and pushed the young knight slightly with his shoulder. Galahad didn’t answer, just his tumors moved.
Hey you, lucky bastard, women always stick to you. I’d like to know your secret! Come on, don’t worry! No country girl would give you the same lady Anna can give... or you doubt whether she’d give you what every country girl could?..

Shut up or I’ll cut your tongue! growled Galahad and pushed his pal away fiercely.
Want to know a secret? Don’t shave your rotten dumb head! – and he rushed into the gloomy hall, scarcely lighted by a few torches. Just not to stop. And not to think. God, why did it happen to him? Yes, he was in love, no doubts. But he couldn’t resist that girl, the daughter of a coaching inn owner, where they spent two days and nights waiting for Arthur. The girl stared at him all day long, brought him some apples and wine, asked something and laughed back at Dagonet’s jokes looking on Galahad... And then she came at night... and again on the second night. Why was he such a damn weakling? He couldn’t help talking about his big and sacred love to lady Anna since the knights have left the king’s castle. And now... Poor angel, he made her believe him and betrayed all this so easily! He remembered how Tristanir avoided to look at him on the next day. Nobody said a word, but Galahad felt that scent of disappointment in the air. Only Dagonet watched with envy how the girl artlessly teased the young knight by her sassy body moving. For not to watch it, Galahad went hunting and stayed in the forest till the sundown.
The other night was awful. The girl came again, but she didn’t expect to meet Dagonet at the room entrance. He grabbed her and tried to put in his bed, but she fought like a wild cat and ran away screaming. Her father came immediately, there was a disgusting scandal, and Arthur, who’d arrived not long before midnight, had to give the man some money to hush up this accident.
They never discussed what had happened, that was more hard. Now Galahad couldn’t talk even to Tristanir about his dear lady Anna as he did gladly before. It was unbearably. Burning stings of shame tortured him. He strove to his sweetheart with all his body and soul, but with that incident he was afraid to look into her eyes. Tonight he’d have to do it.
This ugly feeling in stomach again... Did she still love him? .. Galahad stopped and leaned against the rough stone wall breathing hard. What was to be – would be. Too late to regret. He couldn’t wait the moment he’d see her, take her away in any secret place and hug her there tenderly, whispering endlessly the words of love...
* * *
Lady Anna stood in front of the mirror in a silk emerald gown, pressing her palms to the cheeks. Her hands were ice-cold but the face burned as if she’d have a fever. Her heart jumped.
She arrived with her mother to the king’s palace about half an hour ago from their Sonadora castle. It was already dark outside and ladies hardly recognized some known faces in the crowd in front of the central hall. This time they were given another rooms, opposite each other. But Anna noticed nothing around, her only thought was about her meeting with Galahad.
After a quick knock the maid came in and gave her a letter from lady Luinarys: her girlfriends awaited her in the garden, in a marble pavilion near the round pond. Anna smiled happily – they’d see each other again after such a long pause! Latest news, gossips to talk about! And they’d calm her down before the most important and long-awaited meeting with the knight of her heart.
She looked in the mirror again, sighed nervously, let the maid put on her the cape and went out.

*** LADY FANATIC ***

She is bored. She was just sitting on her horse Uranus and nothing happened at all. The forest around her lay in silence and the four knights, who accompanied her were saying nothing, either. They had left the guesthouse, where they spend the night, a long time ago. Why had her father have to send her to this stupid tournament at king Erictors castle, where, she had to sit around and were not allowed to do the things she liked?! She isn’t one of the normal girls. Her father is the Lord of Hogwarts and she his only child. Therefore she had a lot of freedoms. She was taught how to ride horses, how to handle a sword and she even could do some magic spells., because her father had sent her to the mystic island of Avalon at the age of 16. Yes, her father had raised her more like a boy, than a girl.
A sudden noise around her brings her out of her thoughts. Lady Fanatic! Watch out!, one of the knights yells just as an arrow stabs the tree next to her.
Damn it!, she yells and reaches for her sword. At once 5 men are coming out of the forest and attack them. Horrified she watched the fall of the first knight. She becomes really angry now. Stupid burglars! One of them comes near her, but still she starts smiling. That is at least some action for her-finally she has something to do. Up from her horse she swung her sword and the man sank into the dust.
Suddenly an unknown rider appeared next to her. You better get out of here, my lady!, he said and fought of another of the burglars. Her smile vanished. Who was that? And what the hell was he thinking? She feels her temper raising. She wasn’t that helpless. Didn’t he see how she managed the fight?! Men!, she growls and out of frustration she stabs her sword into the next tree stump.

After a short time the fight was over. But the three remaining knights have surrounded the stranger. Hold it!, Lady Fanatic demands, He helped us. But stranger. Tell me your name!
He bowes slightly. Dear Lady. My name is Sir Viggo and I was on my way to the castle of the honourable king Erictor, when I heard the noise. So tell me, what is a young lady like you doing on empty roads at that time?
Was he playing games with her? She is really confused. This man... We are on the same way, Sir Viggo! A smile comes on his lips Am I allowed to travel with you?

She looks at him critically. He looked a little bit shabby, but still trustworthy. I can’t say no, can I?

Shortly after sunset the group arrives at the castle. Fanatic glances around. The castle was just huge. She had never seen anything like this before. Everywhere were banners and flags and stuff with the colours of the king.

Dear Lady Fanatic. May I help you? Sir Viggo is standing next to her horse and is looking up to her. She raises her eyebrow. Thank you! But I am quite capable of getting off my horse by myself. This man really confuses her. He was very polite, smart and all, but yet he has something dangerous on him, too. She jumps from her horse and gives him a superior smile. Maybe it was a little bit arrogant, but she is the last, who would care about it.
Impressive!, he says.

However she turns to her horse to avoid him: Thanks Uranus. Now rest a little bit! I’ll look after you later., she pats him on the neck.

Lady Fanatic of Hogwarts?!, a page is waiting for her. Damn she hates that title. Why had everybody have to call her like that. Fanatic would be so much easier and faster to say. But she knows, she has to be nice and polite to everybody. Her father had told her a million times. She follows him, without a single word and without a look and thank to Sir Viggo. He is standing in the middle of the courtyard and looks puzzled.
The page shows her her rooms and after a short refreshing and change of her clothes, she is ready to enter the dance.
It takes her a couple minutes to find the right way down to the Great Hall. And again she is struck by the enormous building. Everything was so beautiful and different from the little castle where her father lives. After a while she hears the noise of hundred of people talking and loud music. She steps around the corner and faces the crowd that was in the Hall to celebrate their king. There were so many people - nothing compared to her fathers dances. She feels like she is at the wrong place, but a man sitting at the throne at the far end of the hall draws her attention. That had to be him! King Erictor. Wow, she had no idea how good the king was actually looking. She took a few steps, but somebody blocked her.

Re: the round table

She was surprised and angry. She wasn’t that little that everybody would stumble over her. Lady Fanatic looks up. A young man with curly dark hair and chocolate brown eyes was glancing at her.
Careful young Lady! Hello?! He was the idiot, that walked in her way. He is still looking at her. And that makes her feel very uncomfortable. Excuse you! You bumped into me. If you could let me pass?! I want to greet the King on behalf of my father. The young man smiles and takes some steps to her. She moves back, but hits a column behind her. On behalf of your father? Who is he? Or more important who are you? She eyes him with great dislike. And it makes her furious that she is at his mercy. With the column behind her is no escaping from him. It is his luck, that she wears her evening dress and therefore doesn’t have her sword with her. A noble man would tell his name first. She says with aggressive sparks in her eyes. Dear fair Lady. You do not know who I am? he asks her. NO! Should I? her voice raises. It doesn’t irritate him, that she is jumping from one feet to the other, because he is standing much to close to her. He grins and Fanatic was sure it was a dirty grin. There was only trouble with guys!!!

Orlandolas!!! Let her alone! Neither she nor he had realised that the king had watched them. Now he’s coming towards them looking rather angry. Lady Fanatic gasps. Wow! Why aren’t there any men like him up in the northern parts of his kingdom?
Please excuse the behaviour of my brother Orlandolas! he says and Fanatic squints surprised. That is King Erictor’s brother? But a second look lets her realise the similarities between them: nearly the same curly hair, the same dark eyes. The king continues: Who are you, dear Lady? Fanatic is so struck by him that she just now remembers her good manners and bows down before her king. My name is Lady Fanatic of Hogwarts and I am sent by my father Lord of Hogwarts to represent our house at your tournament. She takes a peep at Erictor, who smiles at her.Very well. I didn’t expected your father to send his own daughter, but I am very pleased to have such a young and beautiful lady here at my castle. I hope you enjoy your stay. But you... he turns to his younger brother and raises his voice all of the sudden can’t you stay away from women for a single evening? I am ashamed that you bothered the daughter of one of my most loyal followers. Get out of my eyes! The music had stopped and everybody had turned around to see what was happening. But now that Erictor settled the whole thing the noise grows louder again. With a last smile Erictor walks back to his throne. Fanatic stays at the same place for a couple minutes. She shakes her head confused. She couldn’t believe what just happened. She glances around, but nobody was watching her except for Orlandolas, who was leaning against the next column. She gives him a disgusted look and turns around.

She finds her way through the people and soon stands in the dark and empty courtyard. The moon shines bright and yellow accompanied by millions of stars. Her feet start walking again and with a smile she recognises the smell in the air. She had to be near the barn. She opens a dark wooden door and truly she was standing in the stable. A soft neigh comes out of the darkness. Uranus?! she whispers and takes the torch next to the door. Slowly she walks down the long rows of stables until she sees her brown stud. He turns to her and sniffs. Hey dear. Are you all right? You are in good company, aren’t you? Not like me. You should have seen this arrogant prince. I guess you wouldn’t like him, he. But what do you think about this Sir Viggo? He’s brave, isn’t he? But well, around here I’m just the little girl from the north... A sudden noise somewhere outside made her understand that she shouldn’t be her, but at the dance. Good night. I’ll come back in the morning. She gives her horse a kiss on the nose and walks fast and quiet out of the barn, but she doesn’t use the same door as the first time. She goes through a smaller door and finds herself in something that looks like a garden. The garden is full of blooming trees and flowers. There is even a lily pond. But suddenly she hears some voices out of nowhere. She was curious out of her nature and couldn’t do anything than moving closer. A white pavilion came into view and there are three women standing and chatting.

Re: The Lady's Round Table

*** SIR/LORD TRISTANIR ***

A lonesome guise sat by the fireside playing with a goblet, lost in thoughts. The fire was dancing and painted obscure figures over the face and every now and then you could catch a look of this face. Sorrowful and thoughtfully. It was quiet and you just hear wood cracking and the sound of fire, hungry for the next log. The lights were out, just the light of fire lightens the room. Actually a cosy place but the man’s worries were nearly touchable.
sigh
I can’t understand why she had to leave me. Leave me at a moment we’re so close. Leave me for her friends after we haven’t met for four months. Am I not that important as a few giggling Ladies or what?

His hand spanned the goblet so hard that the veins came forward and the facial expression darkens. He tried to bear down his anger.

She has to be here, here with me…to be at my command and nothing else. Each time we meet she needs hours to open up, to give me what I want and when she’s willing she leaves or I have to leave. Is it fate that we can’t be together? Why did I marry at all?

clang
He bashed the goblet into the next corner, wine ran out and left its mark on the carpet.

His thoughts went back, back to times where he was young and fancy-free, where he didn’t considerate of anybody, where he had fun with his mates and where they celebrate each evening with wine, broads and chants.

Was it nicer then? We had fun but there was also this lost feeling. Bors came home and his spouse was waiting for him. His eyes twinkles each time he speaks of her. Rough words but we all know he doesn’t feel so. It wasn’t bad to meet nice ladies and to take what I want. They didn’t hesitant a minute but even if I enjoyed it quite often to be admired that way there was something I missed. They pleasured me no way and I bet the other guys didn’t feel different. But what happened to me as these young men screwed her sister? Damn...I remember that well that moment - she stood there fighting with Hawk, totally blushed and trying the best not to lose her proud. A young wildcat waiting for somebody to tame her.

Tristanir’s face relaxed, a smile was around the corner of his mouth

She was so cute during dinner. Didn’t look at anybody and just gave stroppy answers. Artemis was embarrassed about her behaviour but I enjoyed it. Before she left she threw back her hair and threw an angry look at us and we all had to pull ourselves together not to laugh. Gawain, Galahad and Lancehot glanced after her but I already left my place to follow. In some way she was fascinating. I was glad Artemis offered us a place to sleep and that we were always welcome in his house. I guess Arthurian noticed that I looked forward to meet her again. He always wanted to stay there and we stayed longer than expected – each time. Long talks with Tina, I enjoyed it. Also our rides and she was quite good with her bow.

He knits his brows

What would she do if she’d know that I had women after I gave her my ring? And now Galahad did the same. sigh Will she forgive me? I was dumb, didn’t appreciate what it means to have somebody special. I didn’t enjoy it but I was used to it. And now I’m married for more than a year. Married without seeing her very much. Too less time to pleasure her and to be spoilt by her. I can’t hear the jokes about an heir any longer. And when I come back, her eyes are about to lose their twinkle. Does she really have no regrets?

Sorrow was back and he thought about the meeting before an hour. The things Arthurian told them and the doubts of Erictor.

What if Arthurian’s right? What if we have to leave again sooner than expected? What…

knock, knock
Tristanir scares up

Come in

The door opened and an attendant appears

My Lord King Erictor sent me to tell you, you and your wife are awaited in the ballroom

Thank you
He bows and left the room again

Tristanir stood up, made a special sound and walked to the door
Get me Tina

Hawk spread his wings

Last post of Tina at Fanfic chat:

Miss Tina wrote:

Was it necessary? Did I said anything wrong They entered the “Lord’s House” before a minute and this young man definitely bothers their talk. She has noticed the side-glances from Luinarys and it makes her a bit insecure. It was impossible to go on and she just wanted to find out if her companion takes offence at her frank talk. Her glance wanders through the hall and gets caught at this young man again. Even in the shadow she could see that he was very handsome but it seems that he was also pretty young.
Who is that? I can’t remind of him, so he must be here because of this feast. If I’m going to see him later again? He looks pretty good. Tina winced Oops what thoughts. I should not think of any other man.
quote:

Let us hurry, dear. We are late! Let us talk about this subject later - in private, please!

Thank God Luinarys whisper disturbs her mind and she nodded You’re right, we’re more than late. I take you at your word, let’s meet later And she takes her gowns skirt to be able to walk faster, when Luinarys stumbles. Tina reached out her hand to hold her Are you hurt? when the young knight already reached them.
quote:

My lady! Can I help you? Are you harmed?

Sometimes I wonder where these knights were hidden as long as I wasn’t married. He looks even more handsome Again Tina feels like an observer. The young man helps Luinarys and glanced at her as if he knows her but he doesn’t know wherefrom. Immediately he steps back as he recognized her. Tina tries to hide her smile. Thank God he hasn’t had the possibility to drop her. It’s the same again and again. As long as they don’t remember her they act so normal and at the moment they know who stands in front of them there are walls, built faster than anything else. Sometimes I’m glad I’m not married with such a famous man.
She watches them talking and again she noticed side-glances.
If it’s going on like this I’m getting mad and paranoid soon. Is there anything on my face, he also glances at me. That makes me very nervous. What’s going in on in this castle? It’s going to be a madhouse with all these hidden and mysterious things, messages and meetings. Oh my God please take me out of here.
Her glance darkens and she frowns. Luinarys search for her eye contact with knitted brows. She also doesn’t know what’s going on and this strange talking makes her insecure.
quote:

I'd like to talk to you without your handmaiden, please.

At the very first moment she didn’t know what to do. Burst out in laughter or in tears but she noticed a crawl in her stomach and the corners of her mouth turns up, just Luinarys shocked face keeps her from laughing and to be honest she enjoyed the facial expression of the young Captain after her friend cleared him up. Before she could tell him what crosses her mind another member of the Royal Guard appeared.
There must be a nest around here somewhere … she murmurs, watching the excited face of the second guard who called for Jorah whereupon the two men left.
No apology? He left without a single word because of his mistake. What the hell does he mean whom he is.
Was this smile pitifully or does it means that he was ashamed of his confusion. And then he leaves without a single word?
quote:

Tina, I am so ashamed, dear. I don't know, where he left his manners!
I cannot imagine, that he doesn't know WHO you are! I mean, Tristanir is a knight of the Round Table – and Jorah is a member of the Royal Guard – both military groups must work together, mustn't they?
 Please don't worry, dear!

What do you think? Does he rue his words? I mean it’s clear that he can’t know me, even if you think it’s different…but there haven’t been much possibilities he could see Tristanirs wife. Tina gives Luinarys a smile So I don’t blame him for that but I’m annoyed because he acted as if it’s the most normal thing to call me a handmaiden. No excuse after he heard who I am. He acted as if it’s and as if I’m the most unimportant person ever. Tina was pretty annoyed about that fact and her proud was a little hurt too. Her cheeks were reddened and her eyes sparkle. Should you pity me for being married with Tristanir what does this last smile means? I guess I should show him how the wind blows. If I’m right we’ll meet him later. But now my dear friend, hurry. We’re going to get big troubles With these words she takes Luinarys hand, the other hand takes her skirt and they head towards the hall after the “Lords House”. And he’s still not to be sneezed at.

***

Luinarys is still worried about the behavior of Lord Jorah of Kingsgrave.

He should have known, WHO Tina is! I'm absolutely sure, he does know her!

She shakes her head with disbelief.Something is wrong here ... Arthurian worried, Captain Jorah rude and Lord Keanu instrusive ... what will come next?

But before she can continue talking to Tina, her handmaiden Helen reaches the two noble ladies at the court.

Your ladiness, please hurry! The meeting of the Round Table is finished in a few minutes – and the Royal Feast starts soon ...!

I am curious about the subject of that meeting! Perhaps my husband is well-disposed towards me and tells me about it! Luinarys thinks, not without smirking.

She grasps Tina's arm ..

Tina, dear, please go to the Royal Hall and search for Anna and Julie! I'll go to Arthurian to meet the knights. I'll meet you at the feast – and afterwards, we can continue talking ...?!

Then, she sends Helen back to her private rooms and enters the Steward's Tower.

Re: The Lady's Round Table

There is absolute silence in the Steward's Chamber since more than two minutes – if Gawain has counted correctly.

Arthurian's last words hang still in the dusty air ...

I'm convinced, these spy ships are allied with the troops of the Tromain Emperor ... and if I am right, they could be the advance guard of a huge host to conquer the Kingdom ... again!

All knights are silent, each man is lost in thoughts.

Gawain glances at his brothers-in-arms ... he can even feel the anxiety of Galahad and Dagonet, the bellicosity of old Bors and the stress of their leader. Only Tristanir doesn't show his feelings. But all are upset because of these news.

Suddenly, Lancehot leaves his chair ...

Arthurian ... I cannot believe! I am sorry, but I cannot believe these news! Spy ships from the Tromain Realm? That cannot be! You listen to me? That cannot be!

He looks intensely at his friend – and then, he shakes his head.

No, the Tromain Emperor agreed to a pact to leave the Banaty Kingdom in peace, more than three years ago. He's a cruel ruler, but he was always true to his word! Arhurian, you should know this – from all of us, YOU should know best!

Arthurian looks sadly at his best friend ... but Bors leaves his seat as well and bangs his right fist on the table.

Let them come, I say to you! Let them come ... we'll give them a „warm“ welcome, hehe! He looks belligerently at the knights and laughs at Dagonet. Right, Dag?! We'll show them, what we think about their plans, hehe!

But Dagonet only looks embarassed to the ground. He thinks of the strange woman, he saw in the courtyard this afternoon – he remembers exactly the color of her hair: it was an incredible warm red ... and she behaved totally different from the court ladies ...
When we go to war, I'll never see her again ... I won't have a chance to meet her and to talk with her ... another man will come to marry her – as always! A bitter feeling reaches him.

He clears his throat. Arthurian, I trust you – and I want to hear, what you recommend us! He gives a short glance at Lancehot to calm him down, but the younger knight is in rage.

Arthurian, these news are rumors - gossip of chicken-hearted court people!

He glances at Tristanir, who has remained silent. I don't believe these tidings, until I see these ships with my own eyes! He nods at Bors. We should find out, to whom these ships belong, Arthurian!

But his leader shakes his head. No, we must wait until the King's decision. He had a short discussion with his counsellors the day before yesterday, and for tomorrow morning, a royal counselling is ordered. All leaders of the noble houses of the kingdom, plus the Royal Guard and the Round Table will attend!

I only wanted to inform you BEFORE the feast starts! King Erictor committed me to keep silent – so I do to you! No word to anybody!

He exchanges glances with each knight – even Lancehot, who's still annoyed.

Let's go to have some food! Gawain voices under his breath and leaves the room. Galahad follows his best friend with an unhappy face. How shall I tell Anna about this danger ...?

Bors grumbles something about braveness and mousy broads, but he goes with Dagonet.

Finally, Lancelot and Arthurian are left in the Chamber – Arthurian bends over some documents again.

Arthurian, trust me! Trust your men! We all know the Tromain army and their strategies! Please ...

Arthurian looks tired at his friend. Of course, I trust you – but I am the Lord Steward of the King as well – we must be cautious, Lancehot. Many things have changed since we all decided to start a new life here in the Banaty Kingdom! I don't want to fight again like you – I'm afraid of losing my family ... I long for peace like you, Lancehot!

Silence ...

Then, a gentle knocking ...

Arthurian? Are you still here? Luinarys appears in the door. The Royal Feast starts in a few minutes! Oh ... Lancehot? A warm smile in her face.

Lancehot accepts his anger and bows lightly. My lady, you become more beautiful with each day as wife of our Lord Steward! He kisses gently her hand.

Luinarys blushes and looks at her husband – Arthurian gives her a small smile, his eyes are gleaming. emoticon

You're right, Lancehot. She's the most beautiful woman at the court – except Lady Julie of course! He winks at his friend.

Luinarys looks in the eyes of her husband. His mouth smiles, but his eyes are still cold and tired ... gosh, he's very worried!
She goes to Arthurian and touches gently his arm.

Beloved, we are expected at the Royal Table ...

And then, all three people leave the Steward's Tower.

Re: The Lady's Round Table

Sometimes minutes fly by it’s unbelievable. Such precious moments, so sad that it happens just once in a blue moon. This stupid feast – I’ll never understand what’s so attracting in dancing and small talks but it must be.

Helen and Luinarys were gone she still hears the clacking of their shoes in the wideness of this castle, but it dies away from second to second. Suddenly Tina feels alone. A deep-drawn sigh from the bottom of her heart hovers when she turns to head for her rooms. Even Hawk left me. So impatient this bird. I’d love him to accompany me but he’s gone. I’d give a lot to be back at Skye Manor and to ride over the fields followed by my dogs. To feel this freedom that seems to be gone before a while. And to enjoy the instant moment with my friends. To have the precious time back where I saw the knights smiling but they walk around with serious faces lately. Arthurian seems to be more serious than he ever was and I can still feel the tension of the knights talk today.

Tina reaches the door and opens it. A warm welcome of Lando who jumps up and down. The puppies come over to welcome her as well. The backdoor opens and Siobhan appears. A happy smile on her face and her whole appearance feels relaxed. Suddenly Tina hugs her. What to do when you leave tomorrow? I don’t know what to do when I lose the last piece of home. Her eyes become wet and Siobhan looks at her astonished but also shocked. Tina never shows her feelings or barely, so this emotional release was one of the most unexpected things ever. Shy returns the hug – fainthearted. Although they are friends she never felt so close to her before.

The door opens again and Tristanir appears. Crinkles on his forehead and lost in thoughts. He looks up and catches sight of two women hugging each other. He recognises the blonde one and his surprise was even bigger. But it disappears suddenly. Did anything happen? I never saw my wife that way. He clears his throat, confused and terrified turn their glance towards him and two women stand there, slightly embarrassed. Siobhan drops a curtsey, turns Tina around, towards the dressing table. Sit down, we have to do your hair before you leave. I always wonder as you manage to make a mess out of a wonderful hair style. Shy shakes her head Gosh what for an embarrassing moment and quick fingers try their best to make something out of Tina’s hair.
Tristanir looks at them, confused I really prefer the battlefield to women. They are closed books but also little amused about their effort to go back to the used habits It seems nothing happens

Ready Shy looks at Tina through the mirror and squeezes her shoulder to cheer her up Enjoy the feast, we will meet tomorrow before Brad and I leave Tina’s head turns around But I thought you will stay longer. That you stay over the tournament Her eyes shocked and open wide. I also thought so, but Brad wants to leave as soon as possible. It’s a long and hard trip and he doesn’t trust this dangerous silence. I’m sorry. A short sad glance I’ve to leave now Siobhan heads for the backdoor and disappears...followed by the dogs.

She looks so beautiful with this emerald gown and her blonde hair. He walks over and puts his hands on her shoulder. The couple watch themselves through the mirror both seeking in each others eyes for the secrets to catch a glance behind the wall each built to save the vulnerable parts of them…for a special moment they were as close as they’ve barely been in the years they know each other. Her hand steals upwards touches his, fingers intertwine. His head bends towards her ear, a soft kiss on a sensitive place behind it…she closes her eyes. A quiet whisper I’m afraid, but it’s time…we have to leave Tina nods, stands up slowly, smoothes down the skirt of her gown and reaches for Tristanir's hand Let’s go

Knock knock The closeness faint..

Probably we’re so late that they sent somebody to search for us An impish smile towards her husband Come in

A weird person appears. He comes over, puts his hands on Lady Tina shoulders and gives her kisses on both cheeks. Tina was shocked, everything’s happened so quick she can’t avoid it. Who is that?

Come with me my dear and tell me what’s happened during the last years
He wants to take her hand to lead her towards a few armchairs but Tina takes her hands away to hide them. She also makes two steps back to stay right before Tristanir. Her whole body shows a defence attitude.

Who are you and what to you want?
She is pretty annoyed about his familiar behaviour and so she keeps an eye on him, pretty suspicious.

Who I am? I’m Roddy! Dearest don’t you remember? I’m Roddy, your Roddy
An astonished glance meet hers but no sign of realization, she just presses herself nearer to Tristanir’s body.

Can’t you send your bodyguard away? He disturbs me and it seems he wants to kill me anytime. Just want to talk to you
Roddy shakes his hair and glanced with an affectedly view at the couple in front of him.
Tina only notices a move behind her, too quick to prevent the things that happen.

The light breaks on the silver blade and one side points right at Roddy’s throat. He swallows, his face pale, eyes come forward, he starts to shiver and his former appearance was gone.

Didn’t you hear my wife’s question?
Tristanir’s face is also pale, but with rage. Mad at this man who has dared to touch his wife, who has ignored and at least insulted him. A stranger who disregarded the rules of hospitality.

I asked you something
The voice still angry and the blade was dangerous near to the strangers throat.

Quite shocked Tina lays her hand on her husbands arm
Let him be! He isn’t worth it A snarl as answer but the glance loses a little rage.

A shivering hand steals up to the blade to push it gentle away. Roddy rubs his throat his voice was just a quiet croak
Thank you
He takes a white tissue out of his sleeve, a tissue with laces and embroideries, to dab the beads of sweat of his forehead. It was nearly funny to watch him as he stretches out his small finger during this and looked quite offended.
She looks at him. He is an odd appearance. His jacket is so long that it nearly covers his black shoes with these unordinary buckles. Such a glaring red brocade with ridiculous black embroideries and the black pongee collar. Tasteless, I wouldn’t even use it as a blanket in the stable. This big brooch on the left side should make this cloak perfect, uh? What a big and ugly thing, I guess snobbish would be the right word. And this shirt, over and over with laces! The whole man is a lace…they come out of the collar - to hide his long neck? Understandable I’d do the same in that case...hehe…just a little bit of this strange white skin is visible. Her glance went down Laces hang out of the sleeves…you can’t see his hands unless he moves his arms. Does he want hide all the huge, expensive rings? Wow he could do with 20 fingers. Oh my God and this shiny bright yellow trouser I wonder where you could buy something like that. I’ve never seen something similar before. Now I understand this cloak. She looks back in his face, broods over it I don’t know him. Never seen him before. But who knows? His face looks as if he uses anything to change the skin and around his eyes is a thick black line. Perhaps he looks different if he would wash all this stuff of his face. And the hair?! Such a strange blonde colour, nearly yellow and so factitious. At least the big curls aren’t that bad but far too long…his hair is longer than mine. And the long necklace out of pearls would fit a grandma much better. He looks ridiculous and I’d bet my life that I don’t know such a person.
He finishes dabbing his forehead and his lackadaisical appearance was back again. He takes a seat, crosses his leg and looks challenging at Tina and Tristanir.

Re: The Lady's Round Table

So it’s up to you to choose way you leave this castle. I don’t now anybody called Roddy and I’ve never seen you before. Clear us up – that’s an order
Her hand still on her husbands arm but much calmer.

You won’t tell me that you don’t know me. I’m Roderick. The oldest son of Caitlin Devilton. Born in Castrum Biriciana
Tina’s brain works. Too many familiar names and places.

I know Caitlin
she adds slowly.
Caitlin was the beloved wife…….. of my neighbour back home……… Her…. husband …was killed …….and she was married to……… Duke Weaking …before years.
Tina thoughts are far away she plays with her necklace…while she reminds of her childhood.
She had a son…. and his name was Roderick, ….but I haven’t seen him for more than 15 years ……… and as far as I remember…he had dark hair..…Nearly black and you’re blonde

There are ways and means to dye the hair! Roddy answers affectedly.

I’m not interested in any ways and means. I’m just interested in getting rid of you. I don’t want you around, so leave. You came in as if it’s your castle…you had the barefacedness to call me a servant and you touched my wife! Out of my eyes…my patience is gone. Leave yourself or I will help you Tristanir was mad. They were late and this person doesn’t want to go. Apart from that fact, he doesn’t like this guy. I won’t leave until all is cleared, Sir Rodericks bridles up, his cadence mordant. The happenings of the whole day claim their right… left standing Tristanir loses his temper. He packs Roddy’s arm pulls him from the chair towards the door, open it and kick the ass in these ugly yellow pants. Then he turns, offers Tina his arm and they leave their rooms as well. The door closes. A last glance towards the poor stranger on the floor and they head for the big hall followed by not very ladylike curses That wasn’t the last time we met

They don’t talk, again lost in thoughts till they reach the kings hall. A big door was the entry. Tristanir opens it and huge noise swallows them. They exchange a glance, both slightly nerved and both feeling uncomfortable within this turbulences but they step down the small stair. Thank God doesn’t like their king the official ceremonially and so they look for their table to take a seat. Tina looks through the room but she can’t find any familiar face.

We’re first, aren’t we? Tristanir looks at all the people Not really dear smiles and takes her hand. She looks at him with raised eyebrows and nudges him. Ah there are Arthurian and Lancehot. Look and Luinarys is also here but Lancehot looks pretty lonesome, where’s Julie? And Anna? Another familiar face appears…the young lady she got to know in the garden.

posticon The FEAST starts ...

**********

Arthurian, Lancehot and Luinarys left the Steward's tower to cross the courtyard, when suddenly Lord Edwyn of Desert Hall, the second swordmaster of King Erictor, appeared. Luinarys was delighted to meet him – Edwyn was husband to her beloved cousine Genoveva, daughter of her uncle Hartmur. She went to him and stretched out the hands to greet him.

Edwyn – what a nice surprise to see you at court! she laughed happily. What about Genoveva? And my beloved godchild Brienna? Did they come with you! Oh, I'm so glad ...
She was all smiles. Forgotten were all sorrows and worries for this moment.

It is so good to see a common face – to meet a related person. she thought. Maybe I can have a talk with Genny about my „problems“ with Keanu – maybe she'll understand ...?

Lord Edwyn greeted courteously Arthurian and Lancehot, the first swordmaster, and turned then to his cousine-in-law.

Dear, I'm pleased to meet you, too. Gen would have been thrilled to see you, but she must stay at Desert Hall – Erysa is ill, and we didn't want to let her alone at home, you know? But I brought Brienna with me. He knitted his brows and looked sorrowfully.

Luinarys was shocked. Gosh, tell me – is it something worse, Edwyn? Her face is all pale. Have you consulted a medico?

Edwyn tried to becalm her. No, dear, everything will be fine soon, be sure. Erysa is on the mend, but Genoveva wanted to stay with her all day, you know. He winked to Arthurian and Lancehot. In a low voice: Mothers!, he grinned.
And then all three men were laughing.

Luinarys got angry. Edwyn! She gave him a spank. Don't make fun of us careful women. We only try to take care of YOUR children! She looked indignantly at her husband. I can absolutely understand my cousine. And I tell you: she's right! It was the best solution for Erysa. So stop laughing!
She made two steps towards the Royal Hall.

Ah, Lui, don't worry! I'm in a good mood, dear! laughed Edwyn and followed her.

Lancehot apologize to Arthurian and left them to find Lady Julie to accomany her to the feast.

Luinarys met eyes with Arthurian. He doesn't look amused – I'm sure, he didn't even listen to our „quarrel“ ... what's going on with him? Is he still angry because of my bad behavior?

Edwyn started talking about his family life and some dinky gossip, while Luinarys linked arms with her husband.

I love you, Arthurian! She whispered in his right ear and then, looked at the ground. Arthurian pulled her near him and stroked her left hand.

I know, truelove. He gave her a smile. You made the right decision concerning Briseis. She's in good hands at Chassalla. He looked encouraging at her.

... although I want to have her here in the Banaty Mountains! he thought doubtfully and kept silent that he gonna send Dagonet north.

Luinarys returned his look. About what is he then upset? Could it concern the king?

But why are you still worried, hun? May I help you? she whispered before they entered the building. Arthurian only shaked his head dumbly.

**********

Edwyn, Luinarys and Arthurian arrived in the Royal Hall – many other noble people are already there, laughter and chatter are audible, many huges tables filled with delicious food and wines, and musicians, who played festive measures have a seat at the other end of the hall. The noise and the bright candle-lights were near overwhelming for Luinarys, who was accustomed to silence at Grail Hall.
She tried to get a glimpse of some known faces ... she noticed her uncle Hartmur Sanderstone, who sat together with his family, Lord Hamleth of Redwood, his son-in-law Edwyn of Desert Hall and some minor noblemen at one table. She waved her cousin Domras and then continued her walk through the hall. When she passed the next table, she could see the so-called 'ducal table': all ducal families are assembled there ...

Ah, there's fat Duke Jeremy with his wife Duchess Karla ... next to her sits her beautiful daughter Joanna and Lord Joaquin is also there ... then she catched a glimpse of Lord Allmar of Deepdale, his sister, widow Rebekka of Redwood-Deepdale just as well as his sister-in-law, Lady Diane of Deepdale. Next to Lord Allmar sat unmarried Lady Andromakhe of Marbrandt with her elder sister Duchess Daenery and the ducal twins, Doran and Dorothy.

Lady Andromakhe smiled at Luinarys – both ladies knew each other from maidenhood, when they both lived at Sanderstone Castle for some summers. Luinarys smiled back and beckoned to her. Duchess Daenery nodded graciously at Luinarys, so that she blushed a bit.

Suddenly the master of ceremonies tapped with his ceremony staff on the ground and said with a loud voice:

Noble lords and ladies – his excellency, the Royal Steward and Councellor of our grand King Erictor, Lord Arthurian .. and his lady wife, Luinarys Excalibow of Grail Hall.

The noises ebbed away ... everybody eyed the lordly couple.

Luinarys became flustered, she squeezed Arthurian's hand and tried to look exaltedly.

By all Lords, EVERYBODY is staring at us! Go on, Lui, go on ... smile!

When they passed the table of the Riverwinds and Highhearts (with old Countess Ave of River Hall, Lord Avon and Lady Gwyna of Highheart and their daughter Aurela as well as Lady Cersei of Highheart), Count Keanu bowed and sent a tiny smile to Luinarys, who blushed and averted her eyes.

Arthurians led his wife to the knight's table, where Gawain, Dagonet, Tristanir, Tina, Bors and his wife Vanora are already assembled, while nodding to the commander of the Royal Guard and some other military leaders.
When they arrived, the knights and their ladies rised until Arthurian took a seat at the head of the table, Luinarys rightward.

Luinarys glanced at Tina to get to know, if everything is fine with her beloved friend.

Gosh, poor Tina – it seems, she feels uncomfortable here ... but is it a wonder? The situation is tensed even for me, a member of this noble society!

She tried to give an encouraging smile to her friend. And then, she wondered, where Galahad might be, because his seat was still empty.

Where's Galahad, Arthurian? she whispered puzzled.
Her husband knitted his brows and looked a bit angry - the second knight, who hasn't arrived on time at the table. He glanced inquiringly at Gawain, who shrugged.

After that, two servants came to the knight's table to fill the goblets with purple redwine, while Luinarys started to chat with Gawain about the tournament and his future family plans.

*********

But then, the master of ceremonies demanded for silence again, because now, the royal family entered the hall – everybody rised ...

Noble lords and ladies – his royal majesty, the grand King Erictor of the Banaty Kingdom .. his royal highness, Prince Orlandolas .. and Sir Viggo.

The three men walked unhastily through the hall – when they passed the noblemen, everybody bowed. King Erictor changed glances with some noblemen, nodded to the dukes and looked friendly to his subjects, while Prince Orlandolas gave smiles to some ladies. Only Sir Viggo looked unaffectedly straight on.

Re: The Lady's Round Table

After some minutes, King Erictor reached the ducal table and took his goblet of wine. Then, he turned over to his noble guests – utter silence in the huge hall.

Noblemen – welcome guests – friends! I am glad to see so many members of the noble families, who followed my invitation to attend the royal tournament here in the Banaty Mountains.

Joyful buzzing.

Even a noble lady from the far north of the country didn't spare no efforts to travel south .. a warm welcome to Lady Fanatic of Hogwarts from the North Wall!

Erictor smiled at Fanatic, many guests were applauding. Luinarys and Tina changed glances, and Luinarys winked at her friend.

Little Fanatic ... attracts attention of so many noble men ... and Erictor even named her BEFORE greeting the dukes! She laughed inwardly.

And I am also pleased to meet all ducal families ... welcome to my lord uncle and his wife, Duke Jeremy and Duchess Karla of Kingsgrave ... - both noblemen nodded at their king - ... to Duchess Daenery of Marbrandt... - the lady slightly bowed - ... and last, but never least to Lord Allmar of Deepdale, by proxy of his lord father, Duke Allister! Allmar smiled at Erictor.

And of course, I welcome all other members of the great noble families – as there are the Riverwinds, the Sanderstones, the Deserts, the Highhearts, the Redwoods, the Sonadoras ...

there were clapping when each family name was mentioned. Luinarys tried to get a glimpse of her friend Anna ...

... Lord Norther, my trusted military leader ...

Luinarys' Godfather still looked earnestly, but nodded to Erictor.

... and of course, my loyal steward and friend, Lord Excalibow and his beautiful wife, Lady Luinarys of Grail Hall. Erictor gazed at Arthurian and Luinarys.

The knights were poundering on the table, when Erictor mentioned Arthurian's name , Luinarys blushed and dropped a curtsy.

By all Lords, he directly looked in my eyes ... he looked in my eyes!!! Gosh, what a sacred moment ... I could look in his beautiful, brown eyes ...

Luinarys was melting away ... forgotten the man next to her, who was her sworn husband and father of her child.

Did he really say „beautiful“ wife? Gosh, my heart beats like mad ... countenance, Lui ... countenance!

She tried to concentrate and to 'get' normal again ... while the king greeted also the commanders of the Royal Army and Guard, as well as the Knights of the Round Table.
Then he raised a toast, and everybody took a sip.

After the greeting ritual, Erictor, Orlandolas and Viggo took a seat at the ducal table and the feast started.

Arthurian glanced at his wife, but was silent and helped her to sit down.

**********

Many servants brought huge plates with venison, chicken wings, roast pork and big dishes with all sorts of vegetables and potatoes; baskets with bread were handed round.

After a while, Lancehot also came to the knight's table and took a seat on the left of Arthurian - he looked worried.
