The Tromain Realm - a menace?
~~ The Tromain Realm ~~
National Emblem
The Tromain Realm is a vast country, running over a huge continent and several neighbouring states and islands. Capital city is Troma, where the Palace of Trinity, home of the ruling caste, is located.
Over the past 500 years, the rulers of the realm pursued a policy of constant conquest and occupation, therefore the political system and daily life is geared to the military force.
Three offices are spearheaded: Sun, Spear and Buckler --> Lex Primus, Pacis Auctor and Defensor Natio, who constitute the Trinity Congregation, which rules over the realm.
Each incumbent is elected by an assembly of all ruling families and appointed for life; but generally, the Sun comes from the family of Sol and is bequeathed from uncle to nephew.
Current Lex Primus (legislation) is Solon Soliensis, nephew of former Sun Antilius Soliensis, who holds this office for nearly ten years now [-> he is a ruler with hunger for power and an addiction of supervision].
Pacis Auctor (foreign policy) is Imperator Attilus Ensis,
and Patron Strues (defence policy) embodies the Defensor Natio.
The Tromain state religion comprehends the worship of the Tauronian cult, which is a single god religion; the god becomes manifest in a golden bull with red horns. The Tauronian priesthood worships Tauro in subterranean maze-like temples with huge altars for the annual immolation.

Religious traditions - twilight of the gods?

In the Elder Days until the conquest of the TR - worship of ancestors & natural gods
-- before the Tromain army invaded the kingdom, people believed in the ancestry power of their forefathers
-- they deified 5 great Warriors as their supreme lords – each warrior spins off a virtue
Dolgerlot, Warrior of Victory
Vemortar, Warrior of Valour
Aluntur, Warrior of Justice
Darimrol, Warrior of Vengeance
Neneker, Warrior of Mercy
-- the main fane was built in the Banaty Mountains: the Lord’s Hall in the Royal Castle
-- priests of the Five Warriors were called shield bearer
-- as sainthood of the ancestor religion, five unbreakable swords had been revered:
Dolgerlot – Glory
Vemortar – Honour
Aluntur – Oath
Darimrol – Sorrow
Neneker – Memory
-- women, widows, orphans, paupers and invalids worship Lesleva, the Merciful, the vestal sister of the 5 Warriors,
who administers fertility, confidence, welfare and hope
-- people in few parts of the kingdom also worship some local animal ‘gods’:
* between Chassalla and Grail Hall – Warth, the White Wolf
* around Norther Seat – Therw, the Bloody Eagle
* along the coast from Myrtell House to Marbrandt Castle – Eeste, the Clever Seagull [her sainthood is named Sanctuary of the Skies and located on Myrtell Isle]
After the conquest of the TR - the Tauronian cult spreads out:
-- Erictor converted to the Tauronian religion of the Tromain Realm and many subjects (in particular the southern smallfolk) followed him
-- but the noble families of the North (and with them their people) still believe in the natural gods and their powers; even the 5 warriors are worshipped in secret
-- two holy feasts are celebrated every six months: Midsummer and Midwinter Night (feast of the Brightness and the Darkness); huge bonfires are lit throughout the country and people revel for two days

Noble families - High Society of the BK

The royal emblem comprises seven golden seven-pointed stars in a ring on white
Head of the family is Erictor, eldest son and heir of formal King Priamon VI. (dead) and his wife, queen mother Jisseis (eldest child of dead Duke Jonathan of Kingsgrave) ( (she lives now solitarily at the Royal Fort); Erictor has only one younger brother, Prince Orlandolas (27 years old).
~~~ DUKES OF KINGSGRAVE ~~~
The Kingsgrave’s emblem is a red lion rampant, provided with a forked tail, armed and languid gold, on silver
The Dukes of Kingsgrave are the rulers of the richest and most high-producing part of the kingdom, hence they accumulated wealth during the past centuries and have a powerful influence on the do-ings of the royal family.
Duke Jermey is the ruler of castle Kingsgrave and husband to Duchess Karla, formal Lady River-winds (aunt of Count Keanu); his elder sister Jisseis married King Priamon and gave birth to the cur-rent king Erictor and prince Orlandolas.
The ducal couple had 5 children: Jonas (heir), Joaquin (Master of Laws), Jeremy (killed during the Great War), Joanna and Jorah (lieutenant of the Royal Army). Jonas is married to Evena, Lady Norther, and has one son, Jurg. Joaquin is widower of Lady Kyrsta (Redwood) and has one daugh-ter, Jessah; only Joanna (20) and Jorah (19) are still unmarried.
~~~ DUKES OF DEEPDALE ~~~
The ducal banner shows a two-headed horse, brown, on a field of wavy green and green
The family of Deepdale lives in the far south-west of the kingdom. Old Duke Allister was married to Lady Eleonora (of Highheart), who died early. They had 4 children: Allas (killed during the Great War), Allaghar (killed during the Great War), Allmar (now heir) and Rebekka (widow to Lord Char-los of Redwood). Allas was married to Lady Diane (of Marbrandt), and they have a young son Allery (next heir).
~~~ DUKES OF MARBRANDT ~~~
The Marbrandt emblem is a burgundy grape cluster on blue
Duke Ioan died two years ago, hence his oldest daughter Daenery is now Duchess of Marbrandt. She is married to Lord Victos (of Sanderstone) and has two sisters: Diane (widow of Allas of Deep-dale) and Andromakhe (unmarried).
The ducal couple has twins of 12 years: Doran and Dorothy.
~~~ HOUSE MYRTELL OF MYRTELL ISLE ~~~
The banner of House Myrtell shows white sea birds, strewn on a blue field
The family of the Myrtells was nearly completely destroyed during the Great War, when first the Tro-main army and then the Saxons invaded the country.
Only Lady Luiza survived the war and is now married to Lord Tommen Norther. As only living mem-ber of the Myrtell family, she's head of two noble houses at the same time, hence her first-born daughter Selyse will be heir of Myrtell House.
~~~ HOUSE NORTHER OF NORTHER SEAT ~~~
Their banner shows an eagle's head between crossed tridents, red on white
Departed Lord Alrekon and his dead wife, Lady Olega (Myrtell --> she was aunt and mother-in-law to Lady Luiza Myrtell at the same time) had 3 children: Brandon (killed during the Great War), Evena and Tommen. His younger, unmarried brother Godfrey is one of the military leaders of the Royal army and a close friend to Lord Henryk Castell; that's why he's also the Godfather of Luinarys.
Lady Evena is married to Lord Jonas of Kingsgrave and will be the next Duchess of Kingsgrave. She has one son, Jurg. Head of the house since the death of Brandon is Lord Tommen, the youngest child of Alrekon. He has two children together with his wife Luiza (Norther): Selyse (heir of Myrtell House) and newborn Baldewin (heir of Norther Seat). Tommen’s unmarried aunt, Lady Lyanna is abigail to queen dowager Jisseis.
~~~ HOUSE CASTELL OF CHASSALLA ~~~
The emblem of House Castell comprises ten white wolf heads, 4-3-2-1, on grey with a black border
Ruler of the lands of Chassalla is old Baron Henryk Castell, who lost his wife, Lady Ruthia (Myrtell) and his eldest son and heir Rikkard during the Great War. He also has two daughters: Luinarys and Miriamel. Luinarys is married to Lord Arthurian Excalibow and has one child: Briseis, as Miriamel is still unmarried.
The younger sister of Lord Henryk, Brienna married Lord Hartmur of Sanderstone and gave birth to 3 children, too: Domras, Genoveva and Catelyn.
~~~ HOUSE EXCALIBOW OF GRAIL HALL ~~~
The banner of the Royal Steward shows 3 silver long swords, crossed on black beneath a dragon-bone skeleton on a white chief
The old seat of the once Duke of Grail Hall was given to Arthurian for his great services for the king-dom by King Erictor. Lady Luinarys, his wife, stays there together with their daughter Briseis most of the time and rules instead of her husband, while Arthurian serves at the Royal Court in the Banaty Kingdom.
~~~ HOUSE REDWOOD ~~~
The Redwood’s emblem is a white rose upon a red escutcheon, upon white-red embattled border
The family of Redwood has strong bonds with the Dukes of Kingsgrave, who are their lieges since 200 years. In the past years, there have been some clever marriages – as the one of Charlos Red-wood (now dead) with Rebekka, daughter of Duke Allister of Deepdale – and the marriage of Kyrsta (now dead) with Lord Joaquin of Kingsgrave.
Current leader of the family is old Lady Genna, who survived her husband for more than 30 years; heir will be her grandson Hamleth. Hamleth has also three siblings: his older sister Kyrsta, who died in childbed, a younger brother Willas, who serves in the Royal Guard and at least, his sister Selya, who wed Domras Sanderstone. Lady Genna's younger child, Gwyna married Lord Avon of High-heart. Lord Clydas Redwood, brother-in-law to Lady Genna, is Master-of-Ceremonies.
~~~ HOUSE RIVERWINDS OF RIVER HALL ~~~

The Riverwinds are rulers of the Riverlands and confederated with the Dukes of Kingsgrave. So is the sister of the former Lord of River Hall, Karla, wife to Duke Jeremy of Kingsgrave.
Count Kelvin (dead) and his lady wife, Ave (of Highheart) had three children: Keira, who was be-trothed to Brandon Norther, died of „broken heart“, Keanu and Kervan, Lord Commander of the Royal Guard.
~~~ HOUSE SANDERSTONE ~~~
The banner of the Sanderstone shows a red sun, rising from a grey-green sea against a yellow sky
Luinary's unlce belongs to one to the richest men in the kingdom – so it's no wonder, that the royal tournament after the victory over the Saxons was hold at Sanderstone Castle, three years ago.
Earl Hartmur married Luinary's aunt, Brienna (Castell) (dead) and fathered three children: Domras, Genoveva and Catelyn. His heir wed Selya Redwood and is father of two sons: Tyras and Herion. Genoveva is wife to Lord Edwyn of Desert Hall and has two daughters: Brienna and Erysa. Only Catelyn is still unmarried.
Lord Hartmur's younger brother Victos married Duchess Daenery of Marbrandt to affirm the familial bonds with the ducal family (--> Hartmur's aunt Norah was the mother of Daenery).
~~~ HOUSE DESERT OF DESERT HALL ~~~
Their banner shows three stalks of yellow wheat on brown
The Deserts had only been ennobled for one hundred years, by King Hoote, Erictor’s great-great-grandfather. Although their name stands for emptiness and thirst, they own copious lands, which yield them large crops and therefore wealth and richness.
Current head of the house is Lord Eddard, who’s still unmarried and in his early forties. Due to his love for books and good food his family provided him with the nickname “fat bookworm”, which he bears with great serenity. His younger brother Edwyn is wed to Genoveva, née Lady Sanderstone, and the couple has two daughters: Brienna and Erysa.
Their younger sisters Emma and Elena had been killed during the invasion of the Tromain Army.
~~~ HOUSE HIGHHEART OF HIGH HEART MANOR ~~~
Their emblem comprised three black ravens in flight, holding three red hearts, on white
The family of Highheart is closely related to the Dukes of Deepdale by the marriage of Lady Eleon-ora Highheart (dead) with Duke Allister of Deepdale – and to the Riverwinds (Countess Ave was a former lady Highheart).
Old Lord Hexter (60) rules the coast area successfully despite his mysterious illness of which he suf-fers for almost twenty years. His lady wife is Cersei of House Redwood (a daughter of Lady Genna’s younger sister); the couple has one son: Herion, a boy of twelve. Hexter’s nephew Avon married Lady Gwyna Redwood and fathered two daughters: Aurela and Amanda.

Ignobly Born Familys ~ The working class
~~~ The Hughmans ~~~
As the son of a blacksmith 5-year-old Jack Hughman learned early how hard life is when he lost his mother after a complicated birth of his younger sister (2 days later she’s been given away). Jack steped into his fathers shoes and learned the trade of a blacksmith. He expanded his knowledge and trade when he moved after his fathers death (pneumonia) to Dunbars Smithy and became and armorer, too. Attany was an 8 year old girl with two long, dark, plaited pigtails at that time.
10 years later Jack and Attany fell for eachother. They are married for 6 years now. Attany is 24 years old, Jack 32, the couple is childless.

The Nolan family consists of Faroin Nolan and his wife Marah, his 9 year old son Lenus and the twin daughters Fianna and Liliana (4).
If you belive rumors, Farion is the bastard of a noble man, but his mother Elisa Nolan (a waitress at a tavern near Royal Castle) took that secret to her grave.
Marah Nolan came to Royal Castle when she was 1 year old. She grew up between potatoes and barrels in the Royal Kitchen. When she was 17 she was placed into a marriage with Farion (then 28). Faroin (well credited hostler at the Royal Stud) is now 38 years old, Marah (an employee of the Royal Kitchen) is 27.
