26th January Australia Day.
It was Australia Day today.
Australia Day celebrates the anniversary of Captain Arthur Phillip unfurling the British flag at Sydney Cove and proclaiming British sovereignty over the eastern seaboard of Australia on 26 January 1788.
It is the biggest day of celebration in the country and is observed as a public holiday in all states and territories.
On Australia Day we come together as a nation celebrate what's great about Australia and being Australian. It's the day to reflect on what we have achieved and what we can be proud of in our great nation.
Friends and faimily get together for a barbie, and there are a lot of public events such as the Australian of the year awards and various activities.

Re: 26th January Australia Day.
Australia day was HOT!! LOL
There was a big uproar about waving the Aussie flag. Some people tried to ban it at certain events, because it can cause problems with the ethnic community, which is so stupid. If people migrate here they should respect our flag.
But I've never seen so many Aussie flags on Australia day in my life it was awesome!!! I had one flying on my car aerial.
Most people have a BBQ.

Re: 26th January Australia Day.
I definitely agree on the flag thingy. If people live in a foreign country they should respect the national laws and everything connected with the country. As if they'd put away their flags when we come.
Glad you had a great day. Must've been a great view, sight whatever lol

Re: 26th January Australia Day.
Excuse my ignorance, but why your flag could be offensive to that ethnic community?
