Re: Books

Well, regarding the Irish - I have only gotten into the book so far as to tell me about the Celts coming to Ireland (I guess they mighta come from Europe) emoticon & then some details on these tribes in Ireland. But being at the beginning of this book, I sure hope it is an enjoyable read.

I love celtic culture.
My dad's region has celtic roots too. It's very similar to Ireland if we talk about traditions and landscapes.

Re: Books

Lately, if I'm not reading the endless magazines that I get from the Houston Zoo and the Houston Museum of Natural History as well as Reader's Digest and a few other mags, I've been reading non-fiction. I just finished 'Sword of the Prophet' by Serge Trifkovic (I'm probably spelling that wrong) about the history of Islam, it was very enlightening!

Now I'm on Intellectual Morons , or How Ideology Makes Smart People Believe Stupid Things. (!) ..I guess I could go get the book and get the author's name, but I'm lazy right now!

I've read all the books I want to that are here at work, mostly romance/smut trash! emoticon emoticon Guess I'm going to have to go to the library soon!

Re: Books

Well shiver-me-timbers - here are my book reading friends gabbing away. I finally started reading the book on the History of Ireland. Never knew that St. Patrick was born in England and got religious and decided to bop on over to Ireland and set things up. And for all the talk about the Vikings being 'traders' you could fool me what with all the slash and burn methods they used.

That's all I have to say for now.
