Chapter 11
About twenty minutes later Nicole was at the hospital. It didn't look like anything had happened to Orlando,it looked like there had been an attack or something because of all the doctors coming in and out of the rooms. Nicole then asked one of the doctors where Orlando's room was and she pointed to the one on her right and then left.
Nicole silently went into Orlando's room. He didn't look like he was breathing or anything. Oh my god,she thought. What the hell happened here? Why isn't Orlando breathing? Why did this have to happen right after he asked me to be his girlfriend?
"Orlando...?"she asked as she walked toward the bed.
He didn't say anything,but his eyes were starting to flutter open.
He's still alive! Oh thank god,she thought. She then stopped at his bed. "Can you hear me?"
His eyes then opened. "How could I not hear your beautiful voice?"
She sat down in the chair beside the bed and scotted closer next to the bed. "What happened?"
"Someone shot me,"he moved the shoulder of the gown down so she could see the wound.
"Oh my god! Who would do this?"
"I'm not sure..."
No! You can't die! Please don't die on me,I thought. I love you Orlando! "Orlando...?" She put his hand on his face and put her head on his chest and started to cry.
"What's wrong love...?"
"You can't leave me..."
He kissed her forehead. "I'm not going to leave you. I'm just in a little pain right now..."
"Do you want me to stay?"
"Could you please? I'm sorry you had to miss ballet..."
"Do you think I care about that right now? I'm just glad you're alive!"
He smiled and kissed her again. "I don't want to bring anymore pain."
"You'll only bring me pain if you die."
"You know why I wanted you to be my girlfriend?"
"Why?"
"You needed to be loved."
"Thank you."
"Anything for the girl I love the most."
But she was already asleep.

"Nicole,it's time to get up love,"Orlando whispered in her ear as he played with her hair.
"Thirty more minutes..."She was still about 3/4 asleep.
"The doctor needs to see me soon love."
"I don't want to leave you."
He smiled and kissed her forehead. "It's only going to be for a little bit. I need to have some test done."
She sighed and started to wake up. "Oh all right."
"To tell you the truth,I don't want you to leave either."
"Then I'm staying here."
"They're going to kick you out."
"They'll get sued."
"Very funny. You had better leave. It's only going to be for a while all right?"
She nodded. "Ok."
"I love you."
"I love you too,"and she left the room.
I still wonder how or why anyone would want to do this to Orlando,she thought. What did he do to anyone else? I wonder if Aaron had something to do with this.
"Nicole!"yelled Laura as she entered the hospital and ran over to her. "How's he doing?"
"He's fine."
"What happened to him?"
"Someone shot him."
"Who? Where?"
"I don't know who,but they shot him the shoulder."
"Why are you out here?"
"They're doing some test on him."
"I just got a call from your mom."
"Oh god. What's up?"
"She and your dad are coming home in two days. You know they're not going to be too happy if they know that Orlando is staying at your house."
"I kind of figured that out."
"So..."
"What?"
"What are you going to do?"
"I don't know. I can't just kick him out of the house."
"He can stay me with me."
"Uh yeah right! Your parents would kill you too."
"You've got to figure this out."
"I'll talk to him. I wonder if they'll even care if I stay with him."
"But that means you're going to have to move out all the way to L.A."
"Yeah.."
"What am I gonna do without you?!"
"You'll be just fine."
"You're my best friend Nicole."
Right then the doctor came out and told Nicole she could go back inside the room and see Orlando. "Well,this is my only chance."
"Good luck."
"Yeah..Thanks."

So what am I supposed to tell him,she thought as she entered the room. I can’t just kick him out my home. I’m not a rude person. I love him too much now. But my parents would never allow him to stay at the house. Just be nice and he’ll come through.
“Feeling better?”she ask as she walked toward the bed.
“Just a little. You have no idea how much I hate getting shots.”
“I thought you’d be used to that by now.”
He let out a little laugh. “That’s very true.”
“Orlando…there’s something I need to tell you,”she said as she sat down.
“What is it love?”he could tell that something was wrong.
“My parents are coming home in two days…and they probably won’t be too happy if they found out that you were staying with me. And I don’t want to kick you out of my house…”
“Then you can stay with me.”
Her eyes widened. She couldn’t believe that he had just said that. “Are you serious?”
“I love you Nicole. I bet they wouldn’t mind.”
“You don’t know my parents.”
“But you need someone to take care of you.”
“Yes…I would like that.”
“Start packing your bags then.”
“But…when are we leaving?”
“Tomorrow morning when I get out of here.”
“Orlando,you should at least rest for a while.”
“Oh this is nothing compared to what happened to my back.”
Like every Orlando fan out here,Nicole knew what he did to his back.
“Yeah I know.”
“I guess you know what happened.”
“Like every other girl out there.”
He laughed. “I guess.”
“Well,I had better be getting home then.”
“I’ll call you in a couple of hours then.”
She moved closer to him and their lips met.
“I love you,”he said after their lips parted.
“I love you too,”and she left the room. As she left the room she was surprised to see that Laura had already left. Oh well,she thought. She’ll know soon enough.

My parents are never going to let me stay with him,Nicole thought as she drove home. How will I be able to tell them I'm moving to L.A. with Orlando Bloom? How am I going to be able to tell Laura? She'll never let me go either. She'll miss me too much. Maybe I should just stay here where I belong. But then again,where do I really belong? I just wish someone would help me out.
About fifteen minutes after Nicole got home the phone rang.
"Hello?"she asked as she answered the phone.
"Hey girl!"it was Laura.
"Where the hell did you go?"
"I went home."
"Thanks for not telling me."
"You looked occupied with Orlando so I just left."
"Fine."
"So..what happened?"
"He wants me to live with him."
"Are you serious?"
"Yes."
"You're parents are never going to let you do that."
"I figured that...and I know you probably won't let me leave either."
"I think you should do what's right for you."
"Laura..."she paused.
"Yeah?"
"I'm going with him."
"But what about your--."
"I don't care about what my parents think anymore Laura. At least Orlando cares about me. Are my parents ever here anymore? I've barely seen them in this house for the last two years."
"True."
"I love him Laura and I'm going with him." She sounded like she was about to cry.
"Nicole calm down. I know you love him. I seriously think you should go with him."
"You're not going to try to hold me back?"
"I just think you should do what's right."
"Regardless of what my parents think?"
"I guess so."
"This isn't like you Laura."
She sighed. "I know...But we're going to be leaving school soon anyways."
"Yeah..."
"I'm going to say goodbye though."
"Thanks."
"Well,I had better go.I need to make dinner. Bye."
"Bye,"and she hung up the phone. She didn't think that it would ring again,but ten minutes later she did. "Hello?"
"Hi!"it was Orlando.
"Hey!"
"How are you"
"Just dandy. You?"
"I'm ok... I guess."
"How are you feeling?"
"A little better. Are you packed yet?"
"Not yet. I was going to but Laura called and then you called."
"I'm getting out tomorrow evening?"
"Tomorrow?"
"Yep."
I won't even have time to say good bye to mom and dad,she thought. Oh well. They had their chance. This is my chance to get back at them. "Then I had better go soon then."
He let out a little laugh. "I guess so."
"I have a question."
"Yeah."
"Why are you doing this to me?"
"Because I love you Nicole. I really don't want you to get hurt anymore."
"Ok."
"I had better go. The doctors are coming back in. I just wanted to say hi. I'll see you tomorrow afternoon then?"
"You got it."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
"Bye."
"Bye,"and she hung up the phone.

I really don't want to leave here,she thought as she went upstairs to start packing. But this is my only chance to actually have a life. I really want to be with Orlando. This is my only chance... Then again,I have to choice to go or not. But then again,I already made my choice. I'm going to go with him right? Then what the hell is wrong with me? Why am I feeling like this all of a sudden?
About five minutes later the phone rang again.
"Hello?"she asked as she picked up the phone again.
"Hey,"it was Laura.
"Hey. What's wrong?"
She sighed. "I'm really going to miss you."
"I know girl. I'm going to miss you too."
"Your parents still don't know?"
"You think I'm going to tell them?"
"I guess not."
"You didn't already tell them did you?"
"Of course not."
"Thanks."
"I just hope this isn't going to be our last phone conversation."
"Why would it be girl? I'm going to call you as much as I can."
"Ok."
"I'll even let you come and visit sometime."
"Do you think he'll let you do that?"
"You're my best friend Laura. Why wouldn't he?"
"Thanks."
"I'm going to think about girl."
"When are you leaving?"
"Tomorrow evening."
"I thought you weren't leaving for another two days!"
"That's what I thought."
"Do you know what time?"
"No. Not yet."
"Will you call me tomorrow and tell me?"
Now this is the Laura I know,she thought. "Girl,calm down. I'll tell you everything."
"Good."
"Looks like you're back to normal."
"Thanks."
"I'm going to miss you so much. But I really need to go and finish packing. I've got a ton of things to pack."
"All right. Bye."
"Bye,"and she hung up the phone.

Chapter 16
The next morning Nicole was awaken to the sound of her alarm clock. She looked at the time. It's only nine,she thought. And I really don't have to get ready for ballet anymore. I should at least get about one more hour of sleep or I'm going to be dead tonight. But at that moment her dog Ein came in and woke her up. The little welsh corgi jumped on the bed and started licking her feet.
"Ein stop it!"she said as she started to get up. But he wouldn't stop licking her feet. "All right,all right. I know you want to go out." He the jumped off the bed and started barking at her. "Ok I'm up!" He barked again and then hurried downstairs. Why couldn't mom or dad be right right now to take care of him,she thought. I wonder if I'm going to be able to take him with me. Right then the phone started to ring.
"Hello?"she asked.
And to her surprise,it was Orlando. "Hey!"
"Hi!"
"How are you?"
"Good. A little tired because Ein just woke me up."
"I'm sorry. Do you want me to call back later?"
"There's no point now since I'm already up."
"Are you ready to leave?"
"You have no idea. There is something I need to ask you."
"Shoot."
"Can I bring Ein with me? It really wouldn't be right without him. That is,if Sidi mines."
He laughed. "I don't think Sidi would mind at all. I think he'd be happy to have a friend."
She let out a sighe of relief. "Good."
"I thought you would ask me that."
"Really?"
"Well,he is your dog."
"Yeah. How's Sidi doing?"
"He's at home in L.A. right now,so I really haven't had a chance to see him. I miss him dearly though. He'll be happy when he sees us tonight."
"I hope so."
"Oh don't hope. He loves everyone."
"That's good. Well,I had better go and let Ein outside. He sounds pretty mad at me right now."
"All right. Well,I'll see you tonight then?"
"You can count on it."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
"Bye."
"Bye,"and she hung up the phone. She could hear Ein barking at the end of the steps. "All right Ein I'm coming! Hold your horses!" I can't do everything at once you know,she thought. I wonder if Aaron knows that I'm leaving,she thought as she walked downstairs. I wonder if it was him who shot Orlando. No...it couldn't be. Aaron would never do anything like that. He knows I still hate him,but what right does he have to go and try to kill Orlando? Does he still love me...No...he broke up with me. There's no way he could still love me.
Edit: I know many of you don't know who Ein actually is so I'll fill you in on the details. He's a character from one of my favorite Japanese Animation shows called Cowboy Bebop. He is a welsh corgi.

As Nicole waited on Ein,she looked through the pile of old mail. Some of the stuff that had never seen before. There isn’t going to be a letter from them,she thought. My parents would have already told me about it if I had gotten accepted…right? But what if my parents were---
Nicole then stopped all thoughts at that moment because she saw an envelope that was addressed to her. It was from the American Ballet Theater.
“Oh my god,”she whispered. “They actually did send me mail.” She looked around the room. No one was there so she started reading the letter.
Dear Nicole,
We had been pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to the American Ballet Theater. If possible, we would like you to start classes this summer at the academy. We hope to see you this summer.
The American Ballet Theater
Why did mom never tell me about this,she thought. Why would mom not want me to go to New York? She loves the fact that I do ballet. Well,actually,it was her life long dream to be in ABT. But why not tell me that I got accepted? The phone then started to ring again.
“Hello?”she asked as she picked up the phone.
“Hi!”it was Laura.
“Laura you are never going to believe this.”
“What?”
“Well,I was looking through an old stack of mail,and you’ll never believe what I found?”
“What?!”
“I got accepted into ABT.”
“Are you serious?!”
“Yes!”
“Congratulations.”
“There’s only one thing I’m wondering.”
“What?”
“Why mom never told me.”
“Maybe she was afraid of you leaving or something.”
“I hope not. I’ve got to tell Orlando!”
“But aren’t you moving out to L.A.”
“I don’t start class until the summer.”
“But still…”
She sighed. “I have to tell him Laura.”
“But how will you guys keep in touch?”
“We’ll work something out.”
“I hope so.”
“Laura…stop…”
“Sorry. I’m really happy for you.”
“Well,I had better go. I need to bring Ein in and pack some more.”
“Do you need help?”
“When I leave.”
“I’ll see you in a couple of hours then. Bye.”
“Bye,”and she hung up the phone.
I still cannot believe this,she thought. I got accepted into the American Ballet Theater,and my parents don’t even tell me. But then again, I really shouldn’t be surprised by this right? This probably isn’t the first time my parents have done something like this. I wonder what Orlando’s going to say when I tell him.

What am I going to tell Orlando,she thought. How am I going to tell him? How is he going to take the news? What if he then tells me that I can't live with him anymore? No...he would never do that. He loves me. He would never hurt me like Aaron did. Why am I worrying about this all of a sudden?
Nicole then looked at all the stuff as she finished packing.
"I'm really going to miss this room,"she whispered to Ein. "I'm just glad that you're coming with me. What would I do without you?" Ein barked and started licking her face. "Ein stop it!"she commanded. He stopped and started whimpering. "Oh stop it. You know how much I don't like being licked on the face,"she started petting him. "You're going to have so much fun with Sidi. I think you two will be perfect for each other. I just hope you two don't get into fights or anything."
The phone then started to ring. It was Orlando.
"Hello?"she asked.
"Hi!"he said.
Should I tell him,she thought. I've kept enough secrets from people. I have to tell him. "Orlando..."she paused.
"What is it love?"he knew that something was wrong.
"There's something I need to tell you..."
"What is it?"
"I got accepted into the American Ballet Theater in New York."
"New York?"
"Yeah. I actually got accepted back in March and my parents never told me about it and I just read the letter this morning. I'm really sorry about this."
"It's ok love."
"What?""
"I think you should go."
"Really?"
"This is your dream right?"
"Well...yes..."
"You need to follow your dream Nikki. When do your classes start?"
"In about two months."
"Well,at least we'll get to spend a little time together."
"Yeah."
"Are you all right."
"Yeah I'm fine. I'm just a little sore from all this packing."
"I'm actually coming to your house right now."
"I thought I was going to pick you up."
"I want to surprise you."
"Not so much a surprise now."
He let out a little laugh. "Guess not. I'll see you in able five minutes. I love you."
"I love you too."
"Bye."
"Bye,"and she hung up the phone. Well,that had gone better than expected,she thought. I cannot believe that he actually wants me to go. Just goes to show you that he does love me.

"You have no idea how happy I am to see you,"Nicole said as she walked out to greet him.
"You have no idea how happy I am to see you,"he said. "It feels like it's been forever."
"It's only been three days."
"Three days can seem like a life time sometimes,"he said as he kissed her. "Are you ready to go?"
"You know it."
Just then a car started to pull into her neighborhood.
"Oh god."
"What is it?"
"It's Aaron. I should have known."
"Do you want me to take care of him?"
"You should go inside. I can take care of himself myself."
"Nicole..."
"Orlando please listen to me. I just have this horrible feeling that he's the one who shot you."
"Are you sure?"
She nodded. "Yeah. Please go inside."
"I love you. I'm not leaving you." He grabbed her hand.
"Are you sure about this?"
"I love you right?"
"Yeah."
"Then trust me."
"Well,well..."said Aaron as he got out of the car. "What do we have here?"
"Aaron get the hell out of here,"said Nicole with a warning look on her face.
"I'm getting revenge for what you did."
"For what I did? You were the a--hole who broke up with me! If you love me so much then kiss me right in front of Orlando..."she started to hesitate. "Or you had better get the hell away because I can report you to the police for shooting him."
"You have no evidince. Plus I can sue you for assault."
Oh crap,she thought. I totally forgot about that. "What are you doing here?"
"I heard you were leaving."
"Yeah? So...?"
"You're not going anywhere."
"What do you want with me?"
"It's not you. It's him."
"What do you mean? You shot him."
"He was my first revenge."
"Nicole get inside,"Orlando whispered in her ear.
"I'm not go anywhere. I started this and I'm going finish it,"she whispered back. She looked straight at Aaron. "I'm not afraid of you. So if you want him you have to through me first. And I've already punched you once." She looked at his eye.
"You wanna go?"Aaron asked.
"It's your fight."
Aaron then thought for a second. It wasn't any use trying to hit a girl. He knew that she had enough witnesses that he could be put in jail. He then turned back to the car and drove off.
"Wow,"said Orlando. "You were really going to fight him?"
"Yeah,"she then started to walk to the car.
"Why?"
"I love you right?"
He knew where this was going. "Yeah."
"You're just going to have to trust me."
