Phantom Of The Oprea
I've loved the story The Phantom Of The Opera since I was about 12.
I saw the show in the theater when I was 16
and thought it was awesome.
I fell in love with it all over again when
the movie was released last year.
It gave me goosebumps when it started.
The Phantom is gorgeous ( even though he does bad things ).
I'm all excited because the DVD was released
today. I've got my copy and have already
watched it 3 times.
It's wonderful!!
I don't usually cry when I watch movies but
it was hard not to towards the end, the
actors showed such emotion.
Almost as good as our dear Hector.
Has anyone else seen it?

Re: Phantom Of The Oprea
Babila,,
You saw the original London cast? How
wonderful!! My Mum and I adore Michael
Crawford especially in Some Mothers Do 'Ave
Em. He was the reason we bought the Phantom
record in the first place.
The Australian show had a different cast but
it was still fantastic.
The moive has all the beautiful songs and
music from the original stage show ( it's
95% musical )The actors do all their own
singing except Minni Driver who plays Carlotta.
The girl who plays Christine was only 18
when the film was made,
her voice is lovely.
You will love the DVD. Has it been released
there yet?

Re: Phantom Of The Oprea
Yes, I saw the original cast...
I was a lucky girl!
I love musicals..The first I saw when I was little was "Cats" and then, some years later, "The phantom of the Opera" and "Chicago"....Amazing!!!!
I don't know if the DVD has been released in Italy..I don't think so...
But if you tell me that the film is good I'll buy it!

Re: Phantom Of The Oprea
It's really good, one of the best movies I've seen for a while.
( not counting Eric's movies of course )
It was nice to see a sexy Phantom too.
I've always wanted to see Cats.
And Chicago must have been cool.
I saw Jesus Christ Superstar several years
ago, that was awesome, especially because my
favorite Aussie singer played JC.

Re: Phantom Of The Oprea
OMG! I love Phantom of the Opera, soooo much! It just...to be honest, some of the songs make me cry because they are so beautiful. And the Michael Crawford/Sarah Brightman one is my favorite. So glad to see all these other Phantom fans!

Lifeinthefstlne, It's just beautiful is'nt it!!
I've been a fan for many years, and absolutely love Michael Crawford.
I think my favorites are Music of the night,
Wishing you were somehow here again and Point of no return.
Which somg do you like? They do a couple together.
Have you seen the movie yet?

Re: Phantom Of The Oprea
I have seen the movie countless times. I love all of the songs, but I'd have to my favorites are:
From the movie- Think of Me, Masquerade and Point of No Return
From Original Broadway- Music Of The Night, Phantom of the Opera, and Point of No Return and All I Ask of You.
And yes, Gerald is hot! So much better than Raoul
