With the base of the pillar tacked to the channel, It was time to check & adjust the door gap (this car has had pillars & quarters before so its all over the place !)
Bit of adjustment to the gap with the body jack before the inner rear quarter gets attached

Paul cleans up the rear inner quarter ready for a patch panel

Meanwhile the carrot comes in handy

Shawallawallawalla !!

Meanwhile a bit of hammer action on the nbew repair to shape it was in progress

Before it was finally welded into place & the drivers side of the car was stabilised again emoticon

At last - the final batch of pics from last weds
We had the drivers channel all anchored in place - so it was Richs turn to chop out the passengers side channel

and more chopping emoticon

Meanwhile Nick & Ash were tackling the job of stripping the hammerite that someone had painted the back of the dash and scuttle with at some time

Grim stuff to get off - although the heat gun shifts it eventually

Rich then gave a lecture on the benefits of plasma cutters, how they work and how he always uses them on his own projects

Then it was Graemes turn again with the door pillar tool - getting the pillar ready to be finally fitted

Then the inner strengthener was welded to the original

whilst we gained a new member of the team - Mr Carrot

Finally - both pillars seam welded in place & both rear quarters attached

Finally - we hung the old rotten doors in place to check the doorgaps ( new doors are on their way from heritage)

Some of us decided some signwriting was needed (although Graeme seems unamused - or just tired ! - It was gone midnight by this point !)

and finally - I bring you the Jagerbug team

Taken at 12.15 last weds night - from left to right, Rich (Rusty GT) Nick (Pughdog) Ash, Rich (Volks Repairman) Graeme (Beetleman 65) Alex(kneeling - ME - AlexB) and Paul. What a smart Bunch !! emoticon
