GREAT NEWS

just received an email form Conor down at RACESHACK

we've got 2 hours of dyno time free of charge to help get the Jagerbug set up before we go racing. no doubt the guys vast experience of setting race engines up will be invaluable.

just need to get an engine built in time now! emoticon

on wednesday we'll need to pick a date to go down and see them as they get booked up weeks in advance

That will be great to see it on a rolling road... plenty of video footage..

A bit more progress from Paul & I last night

Started the evening stitching the slots in the roof back together with the Tig - it causes less distortion than the mig but is quite a bit slower - not my best tig welding but the roofs pretty thin at this point !!

Image

Image

Meanwhile Paul was up to his usual tricks of cutting things up with the grinder emoticon
Firstly the door tops off the old doors so we can cut the sections from them to extend the new door tops

Image

Then he cut the sides and pillars out of the other roof so we can make up the sections for the side window surrounds

Image

He also kept an eye on my stitching work - just to see it was not distorting too much

Image

We then offered the new side window sections up for fit - not looking too far off

Paul then cut the sides out of the existing roof ready for the new sections - these will go in once we fit the new rear quarters

Image

Slots tigged up and sanded back - doesnt look TOO wobbly emoticon

Image

Then it was time to properly seam the roof with the Mig - you may be able to see the huge sink in this pic - it was pretty scary how far the roof sank as we stitched it up

Image

However as we went we also beat the roof upwards to keep it from collapsing - it seemed to keep it in shape pretty well - its all welded here, and still looks beetle shaped emoticon

Image

finally I took a pic from inside - someone has the fun job of grinding all of this down tonight - then da sanding all of the roof clean both inside & out ready for me to lead the join up emoticon

Image

Plenty more pics tonight emoticon

i love that it's got two interior lights.

looking forward to seeing this weeks installments.

if you're doing a friday, let me know - i'm well up for a distraction from the building, roofing, wiring, carpentry, plumbing, etc.

GT Rich ground down the roof joining welds inside

Image

whilst i finished off stripping the 2nd seat

Re: The JagerBug - Club Racecar

Graeme arrived and cracked on removing the lip on the front valance

Image

before we can start on the rear quarters the whole front end needs finishing off, it's only tacked together at this point so Alex jiggled everything around to fit

Image

GT Rich drilled out the spot welds holding the rear quarters in place

Image

whilst Graeme and I started to prep one of the seats, well, sand it down

Image

Graeme's moving so fast the pics are blurred! emoticon
