however, when we spoke to Viv, one of the organisers, she informed us that we were not going to be displaying in the show and shine hall. we were infact on display in the main hall! emoticon

Image

this was fantastic as it gave us the opportunity to speak to hundreds if not thousands of people about the car! we were able to sell tons of raffle tickets and loads of merchandising too which will really help over the next couple of months with the engine build / painting etc

All in all, a fantastic weekend! emoticon

It was great to get to meet so many of the folks who have been following the build up right from the start here on Volkszone and in Ultra VW. All the support shown was greatly appreciated, both financial and comments made, it really does make you realise the whole things worthwhile (even the fiddly bits like inside the rear grill  )

Obviously a huge thanks go out to all of our sponsors and everyone that purchased anything from us on Sunday (or Saturday night emoticon )

Tonight it's back to the grindstone to try and get the Jagerbug ready for final paint. Before that it's a trip down to see Rob @ RNJ Motorsport to have a cage built and fitted. It's going to be a busy few weeks until the Volksworld show!

See you all there emoticon

Team Jagerbug

With Dubfreeze over it was time to get back to work - to deal with our rear axle width issues Paul & I spent last night removing the (Incorrect 1960s) gearbox from my oval (if anyone has a split case box they want to sell for sensible money - drop me a pm)

Image

Mission accomplished - mind you it was freezing - about -4/-6

Image

Box in the garage ready to have its drums/backplates swapped and dropped in position tonight

Image

Had a bit of time this afternoon so made a start on the rear drums - as we are redrilling to 5 stud chevy the first job is to lose one of the stud holes by silver soldering a spare wheelstud in to block the hole

Image

Silver soldered from both sides - ready to be chopped off

Image

Chopped off and centred up on the faceplate in the lathe ready to be faced off, then have 20mm parted off the snout of the drum so that it will fit on the early axles

Image

More pics later emoticon

Bit out of order but I got some slightly different ones...

Nose cone comparison Fri (I think!) morning, Splitty on the right 1" lower!

Image

This was 1st thing Sat (you can tell by the light)

Image
Image

After I'd finally got the arms in the front beam (stone off the drive was wedged in end of one and had baffled me for some time!) We took the spring plates off the buggy and fitted them and the gearox to the back.

Image

Body and chassis united and on wheels for first time!

Image

We originally set the spring plates at what I'd consider to be a 2 spline drop, but it was still too high!

Image

Getting arty after Paul left and Alex was off getting the trailer

Image

Resetting the spring plates even lower!

Image

Meanwhiles Nick was (Obessivly ! ) cleaning 2 gearbox casings in the parts washer so we can pick the best to build our race box with

Image

whilst Rich and Nicks dad refitted the short axle gearbox & removed the torsion bars
