first job was to clean all the grease / oily finish off the tubing. It's covered in it to stop the tube rusting. 3 guesses who got that sh1tty job? emoticon

each tube is 5.8 metres long!

then Rob made some vital measurements and marked off where the bends were to be made

Image

then Rob's awesome tube bender was called into action

Re: The JagerBug - Club Racecar

here's the really impressive bit, how it's possible to fit it all together

each tube that meets another needs 'notching' (i'm sure there's a correct word for it)

Image

the tube is secured in the vice

Image

then this rather technical bit of equipment is used to drill a shape into the end so that the two piecs of tubing can be joined

Image

alignment of the notch is essential and it was impressive to see Rob working out his angles

not all of it. we gave Rob any left over tubing, he'll have more use for it than us emoticon

with 17 tubes in total Rob spent quite a bit of time in this position!

Image

more tubing cut to length

as you can see, these pics aren't exactly in order
