FOR's to Canada

We are exporting 23 FOR's to Canada for seed stock. They have been Vet checked, the papers filled out, vaccinated and are now waiting in the 30 day quarantine to be shipped via Continental airlines to Calgary. All the birds are young. There's 19 Fehrholz birds, 2 of Bob Rapp's auction donations ("Red Embers") and two Husband Tuffs.

The FORS is going to introduce the breed to Canada by becoming an affiliate of their national all breeds pigeon club and put a 1/4 page club ad in all of their bulletins.

Here's a few pictures of the birds:

Thank you Alan for the great pix and especially the labeling.
My..., you have been busy at the PC haven't you. emoticon
Great news too! I'm sure we all wish them a safe trip to their new home in Canada emoticon

About the colors... most of the Mottles will get more white after their first molt. The Tuff will molt out a lot of the red, and be more blue. The Classical Almonds have some of the deepest ground color I have ever seen in the breed. The Almond Mottles I have always called "Light Almond", but if one of their parents is a Mottle, chances are what's making that Almond so light is the fact it's really a Mottled Almond. It took me all these years to just figure that one out! duh! :embarassed:

This thread makes me very happy. Selfishly so, of course. But happy to read the good news.

Thank you everyone. Makes me think that I may actually be able to get some in the future.

I sound a little sappy don't I? lol Oh well.

Thanks anyway. emoticon

I always get excited like a kid at Christmas time when I'm getting new birds.I bought some Ringnecked Doves in July and have them in with the tomatoes in the greenhouse where they are quite happy till we build an octagon pagoda for them. The sound of them singing is beautiful and reminds me of my years in the tropics.
