Columba livia This is an interesting fact, at least to me it is. They say the pure wild pigeon is now extinct. They have all been polluted with domestic blood. No where in the world can you find a pure bloodline of wild Columba livia. They have all been polluted with blood from Columba livia domestica.

Re: Columba livia So where did the Columba livia domestica came from? I'm confused? Growing up a friend and i breed fancy guppy fish, we did alot of selective breeding for colors and fin shape, some of the one's that did not made the cut i put in a natural pond in my back yard, i let this fancy guppys breed by them self, in 3 to 4 years most of the offsprings reverted back to ther wild colors and fin shape. So are this guppys with wild colors and grow up in the wild are not pure guppys?
Re: Columba livia Columba livia domestica are Ferals and Fancy breeds of Pigeons. Ferals revert back to the natural form but only to a degree. There are no pure 100% wild forms anymore that have no domestic blood in them. The same can be said of your reverted Guppy's. The main difference is there still are 100% pure wild strains of Guppy's but not in your backyard.
