Re: Much needed rain.
Glad to hear you got the rain you needed. While you were napping I let my older birds out. Same kind of gray day here, but 2" of snow overnight and now 37 degrees. It was interesting to see them enjoy a bath on such a cool day, but with the way the water was flying, they sure seemed to. Kind of funny too, watching them wade around in the snow looking for a choice blade of grass to peck on. Also while the bullies were out playing, my one & only squeaker got some time to it's self to relax & eat without being constantly chased. Matter of fact, today is the squeaks 7th week birthday. Time flies when your having fun...

Re: Much needed rain.
7 weeks,eh!?Cool.Got any pics of those new ones?
2" of snow is not bad,it's when it gets to 8 or 10" it gets hard for the birds to land.

Re: Much needed rain.
No pictures yet. Just the one youngster. It's brother or sister died in the nest the same day the mother was killed by the henry. The color so far is a bluebar like the hen was. That is the bird that was kept warm at night by the handwarmers. Fortunately the cоck was a real trooper and handled the feeding chores faithfully. With the addition of the 4 hens now, looking forward to a better season next spring.
