Quick newbie question...

What kind of a working timeline do you have with pigeon eggs? Are they the same as chicken and turkey eggs? keep them cool and they can last several days before needing to be incubated...

I'm curious about how much time you have for transport.

I always take eggs away, store them in a container with grains (food) and put them back within five days.

This way I have more pairs starting at the same time, so I can swap eggs or chicks if need.
After 5 days fertility goes town, but you can go up to 10 days with decent fertility rate. Shaking is not recomanded.
Eggs close to hatch were succesfuly caried within 48 hours from Europe here, actualy closer to hatching date better it was.

Last year a set of Persian Roller eggs were sent to me but the lugage bag with eggs was late from Paris and Costume people wer not particulary careful to repack, so eggs gat some cracks, one broke and spill ower others.
I'll try this year again.
Wow that means I might have OR eggs to spare emoticon emoticon emoticon
