I've had my first FOR's hatch out, its only four young but its a start. As I only have 2 pair, should I stock the young or fly them/ Want opinions.

Re: The eggs hatched

I've only had a couple pair breeding since last September using fosters whenever I can.Been flying the young till they are old enough to breed and have put 2 into the breeder loft, lost 3 over the winter flying with falcons and the odd hawk around and still have 6 birds flying and 6 coming up.Couldn't wait to see them fly and have been enjoying watch them develop for sure.At this time of year you should be good to fly them train them then breed them back to their folks when old enough,or pick up some new birds to mate them with.

Wayne....I would use "fosters" and pump the hell out of the FOR and get as many youngsters out of them as you can. I would also extend my breeding season as long as possible..

Paul, That's kinda what I have in mind, although the one pair are yearlings so not sure about pushing them to much. What some to fly and also to increase my stock.

Wayne......The foster way,is the way to go. But,you need to have good reliable fosters to start with. That's the problem that Iam haveing this season myself. I don't have mature fosters established yet. Good luck
