Re: Mud Hen I believe Andy's mud hen is Indigo. Indigos will all have a washed out tail bar. Sometimes it's barely discernable but you can always see the wash out of the black tail bar. If it's spread, it will also have at least some wash-out on the tail.
Indigo effects the pattern markings of the body differently than the end tail bar. While it washes out the tail bar it makes the pattern more of a rust color.
I have enclosed pics of Andy's bird and you can see both a slight wash-out of the tail bar and a slight rusting effect on the pattern.
I have also seen photos other FOR's that I believe are Indigo floating around the states. One is a bird that Bill Tietze had and it also has the Fehrholz black beak. His photo is included as well.

Re: Mud Hen As you can see the birds here are starting to molt. The pictures are the old hen and her two youngsters one cоck and one hen.
Check the color of the little squeakier. It is out of a blue check and my yellow self hen
Re: Mud Hen Husband with some fehrholz originally from Bill Tietze. I got them from Don Paltani. I also talked to Bill about them and he said that Don had received birds from him.
