Re: Indigo

Alan I have all my Tigers mated to Kites. All I get are kite and tort grizzles. Some real beauties but I want some more black tigers.

I also produced an ash red cоck last year from a dun/silver Fireball hen and a Red mottle cоck I got from you in 05-06?.

Are your tigers black tigers? If so, in time they will produce more black tigers. Or mate them to a black and you should get almost 50% black tigers.

But that's a good idea mating the tigers to kites to get those beautiful tort tigers. Those have to be one of the most beautiful of all pigeons

The Red Mottle Fireball must be an Ash Red Mottle

I have two black tigers and one red tiger. I would like to have more of both. The torts are to me the most attractive. The good thing about them is they are all different as to the amount of dark and white on them.

Re: Indigo

Remember - Andalusian (indigo plus spread) X Andalusian (indigo plus spread) OR indigo X indigo in any of its patterns can produce an ash-red mimic (homozygous indigo).

This is why some folks think that ash-red is what's producing the andalusian. Of course, you can also have an ash-red indigo as well, but most of the "ash-reds" that folks think are in their andalusians are actually homozygous indigos.
