Deference in almond and qualmond? Can some one please explain to me what the deference between an almond and qualmond in plain english . I had some one tried explaining it to me but the guy started talking genetics . I-no-speak-a-genetic-gibe-jabber . Thank you.

They are inherited the same being a dominate but the expression of color is slightly different. It's like Dilute and Reduced. Homozygous Almond can be a lethal/crippling gene, homozygous Qualmond is not. Therefore, the breeding of Qualmond to Qualmond can be done without any ill effects
Almond produces a greater amount of change for color break flicking and more color contrast. Qualmond is a little less drastic in change. Overall, Qualmond is more gray like in appearance.
Almond is well known in Oriental Rollers, Qualmond may not be in the breed at all.
