Health progam With my race birds I run them through a health program prior to breeding, do many on the board do the same with FOR's? My program consists of vaccination for PMV-1 and treatment with a 4 in 1 medication.
Re: Health progam I go with All-in-One with the probiotic,before breeding and during the moult period.Garlic,ACV and electrovites in the water(separate of course)all through the year.

Re: Health progam I like to dust mine and clean all the nest boxes out that havent been done. I give the probio's periodically year round and vaccinate for PMV in October. I dont medicate in any form but rather eradicate. This has worked for me and I rarely have a sick bird now.
I used to try to save every one that acted droopy but now I isolate and if Probio's wont fix it I cull the bird. I wouldnt Vaccinate for PMV except I trade birds a lot and dont want to import or export it to anyone. It is bad business. I imported it once and before you know what it is it has almost run its course wiping out half a flock or loft.
Re: Health progam You can import some of these diseases from more than just Pigeons. I had a problem once that came from local wild Doves. I noticed some sick and dead Doves in my yard and sure enough, my Pigeons started to get sick and die too.

Re: Health progam I give my birds PrimaLac in their water just about everyday year round.I used to use alot of acv,but now I pretty much stick with the PrimaLac.I give my breeders extra safflower seed and popcorn in the winter leading up to breeding season. I have a buddy that vacinates my birds in the spring with Sal-bac and Pmv-1 when he does his racers.I also use Herbots 4 oils and BMT brewers yeast mixed on their food 2-3 times a week in the cooler weather(it sours pretty quick in the summer)

Re: Health progam Thanks to all for their input. I have heard good things about Primalac, will have to give it a try. Other than that I'll continue with the way I've been doing things. Wayne
