Re: vitamins

For vitamins, I give my birds Red Cell. One Tablespoon per gal. It's a vitamin and mineral supplement for horses you can buy at almost any Tack Shop.

For grit, I combine pink Pigeon grit, with red grit and Oyster shell. You can find them at most feed stores that sell Pigeon feed.

I get the red pigeon grit and mix it 3 parts oyster shell/1 part grit. The vitamins I use a poultry/swine/cattle one we can get at any feed store here in Canada. It is blue and smells like Lik-a-maid.1 tblsp per gallon of water. Also put a clove a garlic in their water every couple weeks and another day will add apple cider vinegar(with mother).

Pigeons LOVE garlic! if you are having a hard time getting the birds used to pellets or something, sprinkle a lot of garlic powder on their food! They LOVE garlic! But I put three cloves of garlic which i cut open in the water to sit overnight then in the morning give it to them! They LOVE it!

Garlic purifies blood in the system as well as helps combat parasites, internal and external.Gotta love it!! emoticon Garlic powder tastes and smells good but being dried it has lost alot of the goodies it has in the fresh.Fresh is best. And if there is a problem with Vampires in your area,a garlic necklace makes you safe!!
